this is true. Bugger.

Wanted : one new hitachi maf, must be brand new and cheap ;)

I'll give them a go. Sorry if I'm out of touch but did Ady ever get his business off the ground ?

BALLS.
Just fitted a new fuel and air filter and now the blastard thing won't rev up.
Took it out for a spin to see if it cleared anything and could hardly get it to move. 19mph max in 2nd gear - had to get into 4th just to get to 30mph !
Pumped the hell out of the thing on top of the fuel filter, it went firm, but not solid.

bloody hell. Have you checked your brakes? sniff round the wheels, if its stinks hot then your brakes are binding!!

I would also not give up on the fuel filter yet. take it off, fill it with diesel, put back on and hand tighten, prime first before starting engine...thats what I did. Started, splutted then was fine.

might be sucking in air through the primper pump if u have any get some clear 8mm pipe so u can c any air getting in put it before the filter 1st then after and c if air is in the fuel line and u will c where it is getting in:thumb2

Surprised no one has said "mini filter" yet.....

true, but I have a feeling he wont have one, sounds like he has a similar model to mine...could be wrong and certainly worth checking!:thumb2

already got clear pipe after the filter, no air bubbles. Have to try some before it too. Lots of white smoke but not a lot of revving.
I was looking at the banjo to see if I could get to it without removing the ps pump, I reckon I can so that'll be first job tomorrow.

after checking the banjo filter some have some dont my x reg bosch system has but once checked go to the return off the pump and restrict it by crimping with either mole grips or brake pipe clip and take it for a very short spin if that helps there is a return valve in the back of the pump on the return it fails as the spring goes weak bosch 1 cost me £50 i think the other system its alot cheaper round £20 +vat when i spoke to the diesel guys they say the alway replace this when they recon the pump i have heard that with some pumps this vale is all thats wrong worth a try its free to test:thumbs

if the MiL isnt coming on, I would either fix the bulb (suspect it has been removed on purpose perhaps) or get a reader for it. If there are codes showing, then those will give you a really good idea of what is wrong.

you might struggle tbh I think they are ODB, as opposed to ODB 2...ebay would be my first place to try. I am not so sure how tricky it is to remove the dash for bulb replacement, but it cant be that hard....

connector can be found above the pedals. I have one for my maverick.

But the way to check if the light works, does it not come on before starting?
