Clearly it needs 2 bolts, there is a huge turning torque, trying to rotate the starter motor and there will be a side force too.
I have used chemical metal for loads of things, but if it is aluminium, I don't rate it that well, ok as a filler or leak fix, but to take forces like this, no chance.The washer will help though.
Have a look at Ryan's bodged bracket, that a previous owner had made, it did work though...
Ryan, have you still got it, was it the top or the bottom?
