Hi Guys,

You all know I blowed up supposedly a relay or switch on the Mistral. I went to the local Nissan Dealer and ask if they knew where is the relay or switch and they kindly send me away telling me they can't do anything with an import ................ It can't be that bad.......so :

- anybody as a terrano / mistral relay Diagram or knows what each relays are (I found the manual complicated to tell me) it would be good to have for the club anyway !
- which one do you think could be the right relay(s) to check ? under bonnet, under dash or near the fuse box.

Really need to sort this out quickly, no indicators while driving.

nope

I am square lights, 1996.

I have the manual, but can't figure where and which one. :nenau

post the link for your manuals.

some one might be able to spot where it is

locteau thats typical of those lazy feckers.

any chance you can post a pic of the relays, might help someone ID the right one....but we still haven't found a lighting fuse either :(:(

where are all the sparkies....

Oops !

I meant I have the manual from the site (pdf).

Under the bonnet Relays:

Under the dash / steering :https://picasaweb.google.com/Locteau/MistralRadio?authkey=Gv1sRgCMuM1uPE9vmYoQE#5572018761774065122

On the fuse box :https://picasaweb.google.com/Locteau/MistralRadio?authkey=Gv1sRgCMuM1uPE9vmYoQE#5572018768844699666

Description of each would be great for the members I suppose, for me I need to fix up the indicators, flashing lights.

Ok Here's a starter, the fuse allocations for a Mistral:
Mistral fuse allocations:

I have now added a letter to the end of each fuse group:
I = Ignition
B= Battery
A = Accessory
So I would guess there is a "big" fuse somewhere under the hood for each of these groups.
Fuse number 2, top row is the indicators.

Top row, left to right
1) Meter I
2) Signal turn - Indicators I
3) - I
4) Stop lamp B
5) Horn B
6) Interior light (room light) B
7) Hazzard lamp B
8) Fog lamp B
9) - B
10) Tail lamp B
11) - A
12) left headlamp B
13) right headlamp B

Bottom row, left to right
1) Rear de-fogger I
2) Rear wiper A
3) Front wiper A
4) Cigar lighter A
5) Audio A
6) Blower motor A
7) Blower motor A
8) Air con A
9) Air con I
10) Engine control I
11) Auto control I
12) -
13) -

checked

I checked the fuses 2 and 7 and just to be sure I even replaced them with brand you one.

Just noticed the rear defogger is also off and seems to be the same circuit ?

Yes it may well be on the same circuit, pity I don't have CCT's for the Mistral though....
Anyhow check the fuses in the distribution box under the bonnet, could easily be one of those.

Nope

Nope, checked them and also replaced them.

It has to be a relay ?????? :bow

OK...IF the Mistral wiring is anything like the later models, there is (should be) a relay that is energised by the IGN switch, this will provide power to a number of accessories. Indicators, rear demister etc....
Have you got the correct diagram for your car?

I think his problem is he's got nothing poor sod....and this is the hardest variant of course, oldest model and an import to boot....:)

You would think there's gotta be a wiring diagram somewhere:nenau???
Gets easy then.........:thumbs

Could you try checking the relays under the bonnett one by one. Take out one and try it for each of the others in turn. Just remember which one goes back where. Don't take out the main relay--usually a higher number on that than the others e.g. 80--which will probably be screwed in anyway. If you then need to check the main relay you will probably need to disconnect the battery before you take it out. Can u pop open the tops of the relays. Some relays you can pop off the cap at the top to inspect them inside.

I don't have any diagram, etc.... except what is on the site here.

I will try to swap the relays around if they are interchangeable.

So nobody knows which one is it on your car ?

....been scruting a few links elsewhere and it seems the Mistral wiring is different to the Terrano, but not that much, so might be worth using that as a starting point?

Haven't got the T2 with me today so I can't go an look. On your photo of the relays and fuses under the bonnett there is a line of four or five fuses with clear caps on the top. The end one, looks black, looks like an 80 amp main fuse. The others are probably 20 or 30 amps. Try swapping these around and see if anything works (remember the proper place for them to put them back though).
