Rear brake cylinder.....Bugger !

Hi Gang,
Well, I settled down to what I assumed was going to be a straight forward job and guess what.... I was wrong!

The rear wheel cylinder seal has obviously gone, hence the crappy braking on the rear. Brake fluid had contaminated the shoes etc etc etc.

So, do I replace the seals or the whole cylinder. Anyone know of a supplier in or around the Worcester area for either?

I was supposed to be dragging the caravan down to Exmoor this weekend, looks like thats out of the window assuming I can't fix em quick.

Replace the complete cylinder £17 from milners

or your motor factors, and for gods sake do both sides, don't mess about. With one side fixed, all the pressure will be on the other, exposing any weakness in the seals there....

I'm sure you already know, but to get the drums off you just screw a couple of 10mm bolts into the threaded holes in the drums themselves provided for this very purpose!

Job done, cylinders and shoes replaced and all working. I may just drop the one wheel off tomorrow because I think I have over adjusted the trim. Now I know what I'm doing with it, it will be a quick enough job.

By the way, they're 8mm bolts to push the drums, as I found today.
