Thanks,

It's all pretty much on hold now due to my benders former being a few mm too small :(

So trying to source 48mm tube instead, Hopefully seamless or if need be will have to be seamed tubing :(

Do me a sketch or give me details and ill make them for you if I can, you just pay Postage, it will be a tanner via courier :thumb2

Is that the former you can make ? Flippin' awesome if you can as I'll need one too. We both have similar tube bending projects on the go but have different benders :doh

Should be ok with that mate just need one of your formers to copy :thumb2
And then make it same but to suit your desired tube :thumb2

Fantastic, what a star :thumb2
Can you send me your addy and I'll send you my former. I'll prod Fez now so he sees this.
Cheers most many happy days

I've been PM'in him, Might be an idea to send both our former's the same time but means coordinating a meet up sometime?

I still think sourcing 48mm stuff might be easier :nenau

Material sourced :thumb2 Fez you have post :D
Pete you decide between yourselves and let me know :thumb2

While things are on hold I've been able to make a stand for the tube notcher

After I'm done with notching I might mound a bench vice or something to do it so I can grind outdoors and keep the dust down. :)

After a few months of non activity I spent a few hours on the patrol after work today :thumb2

Cut parts to box off the back supports of the rear winch tray. I also mocked up how the spare wheel will roughly go if I have a full size spare.

Also not taken pictures of rear cage supports ready to weld up.

Wow. It's about time you took your party hat off and got some done:D.
That looks fantastic and strong enough be used as a nuclear shelter.
Much awesomeness:jump

Here we go.... Just had to hover up the dust after your post jumped to the top [emoji38]

Picked 3 lengths of CDS tubing from my mates for the roll cage :) :) :)

:lol:lol hope you didn't drive too far like that :lol:lol

Just got 48mm ish CDS (3 lengths pictured) for curved stuff which is the same diameter of scaffold which my bender bent fine, Hopefully it should bend ok we will see monday.

Will be using the 51mm stuff I have spare for any straight pieces.

I can get more, I think I will need to buy one more length at some point!

I think I would have done the same and cut the back off, those seat mounts in the floor are a real common rust area due to the doubler plate underneath, the front radiator support is also common wherever you are in the world, I have done exactly the same as you have with 2"x2" in the past, now rust ya bugger.
Your doing a real good job of it, never seen the sills completely removed though, my rangie now has 4x2 box where the original sills used to be...
A real common area for rust is in the roof in oz/nz and oddly enough always on the passengers side, that is why a lot get converted to Utes (pickups) or tray backs. Been looking around to find a shorty but not many around now, your lucky to have found one in the first place. Seen a few 2.8's but the 4.2 is the king.. Keep up the good work buddy.....

That's awesome!!!!! :lol :lol :lol

Yeah I hope you didn't have to go too far as that looks like just the right angle to spear a truck driver through the throat

I'd have at least tied a yellow high vis on the end

Keep looking, It took me a long time to buy one. Missed out on a few real bargains. In the end I payed a bit too much for this but wanted something to get stuck into. It's in pretty good condition rust wise for the year apart from the rear end.

About 10 mins down a country road, didn't see one other car.

I was tempted but thought the rear door being open was enough to show I was carrying something abnormal.
