Cheers guys, been busy lately finishing up with college (2 to go), tho have still been plodding along slowly, freed up a few hrs tho with finishing early, so be able to pick up pace from nxt week :thumb2

Do you have an eta if all is well? :naughty

do you mean estimated time of arrival?? was supposed to be 24th may but didn't happen cos there was to much to do, hoping no longer than 6 weeks :thumb2

Oh yes Mr Jim, Its getting there, keep finding more bits that need cleaned & painted, I also just have a big pile of bolts with no labels :doh:doh:doh

most of the nuts are missing since half of them got cut off & the other half had a small socket rattled on them cos they were rounding, which I forgot about :doh:doh:doh

My stepdad helping me with the cage, since i'm pants at angles & measuring

1st mock mounting with some new beefy 6mm plate for body mounts (free):clap

erm think the front one is a bit wide (1ft too wide :doh) I never made it up

New front hoop (all only tac'd on)

Rear axle back on

New lower arm bushes.....what a b**** to fit, best done with 2 bits of 6mm plate, thick threaded bar, washers, nuts & some serious arm power...

U can use 3mm but they'll look like thos when ur done

Cleaned & painted torsion bars (not the splines :augie)

Torsion bars back in place (its been painted underneath)

Upper & lower arms back on

Diff xmembers back in

Front diff & drive shaft to get cleaned & painted

I do have lots more to do & I have neglected some bits for just now as I need to get it back up on its wheels so I can move it to a new place as I'm losing my unit (i didn't hold the lease), then I can continue at my new one :thumb2

Brilliant, i love hearing about it and seeing the photos.

Best of luck getting it moved to the new workshop.

diffs to be painted

front xmembers & diff back on

back on its wheels :D

Need to reindex those torsion bars properly, they're sitting too low to the point the wishbone is bottomed out :doh

dont ever attempt to tow without a A frame......this happens

Just to prove I do get my hands dirty :augie:lol

Everything has now been moved also to my new workshop/40ft container, bit of a squeeze atm but at least most of it can get clearer as terrano gets rebuilt :thumb2

When does the chassis get a coat of something. Hope you get the wiring replaced soon.

Yeah still working on it, slowly but surely.
Lacking time & space really cos I'm working out of a 40ft container & I can't push the bigger back in myself so it's limiting what I can do, as well as this is my HND year so loads of homework and had stupid amounts of family/personal issues to deal with (but I'm alright).

Anyhow, it's all good, torsion bars got reset eventually (thanks for advise) stupid me was doing them back to front. But we know have an exoskeleton for a body thanks to my stepfather (i've helped). Trying to get wiring looms is a pain, Phil has tdi for me, but can't seem get to schedules to meet atm for hand over & I'll then need to figure out something for the fuel & ecu since mine is a td, but I'll get there eventually......Only been a yr & a half so far :lol

Just realised the latest photos aren't on here :doh

Its getting there slowly & I'm moving it over to N.I. soon :clap so more work will commence

Nope that wasn't mine

Empty looking container

Very full horsebox......well almost still managed to get engine crane, welder, transmission stand & 5 wheels & tyres in there, oh & a slide

Terrano & steel moving over shortly.....tools are here. Then I'll be the task of fitting it all in a 20ft garage & a shed.

Poor surf was towing its own weight, it managed it tho slowly deco doesn't have the pull power of the terrano......but its also on 228k

Nice to see you getting sorted out. I know my project isn't as big as yours but I can't wait to get cracked on with mine, bet you are the same.
Hadn't realised you were turning it into a buggy thing, for some reason I thought you were putting original body back on but it's looking really good.
