Pretty sure its not a scam, I have unique emails for sites like ebay, paypal, google, photobucket, twitter etc, and the email is to the correct account. I can't look into it properly as I am away on holiday at the moment, without the best data connection, so will look into it more when I get back home.

Luckily I think most pictures on there are also backed up at home, but ironically most of my car pictures are not.

Anyway take it as a heads up, as a lot of people are talking about it, and complaining how they changed the t&c's without any advanced notice.

I'll just move mine to my own host, but it will ruin all the old posts on forums, as all the pictures will disappear.

I know that you are nobody's fool and you are switched on so don't be offended by me saying don't click on any links in the email and then try to logon to your photobucket account. Basic I know but I'd hate anything nasty happen.

If it's genuine then that'll be all my project threads screwed too along with most other people too.

Blimey! There does appear to be a lot of chat going on on various fora. Odd that there's nothing in mainstream Google. It appears to be targetting third party hosting which is probably the reason the majority of users use Photobucketofpoo.
$400 is simply going to drive people away in their hoards.
What do you reckon Banshee?

Cheers, I have not clicked on anything in the email, I logged in directly to photobucket on my tablet, but as we have commented before, Photobucket is very slow, and on a less than 100% Welsh 3G connection, its nigh on impossible to log in and see what is going on, but I keep getting a page telling me I have exceeded my limit, with a big dash board clock on it.

If you search on Google for "photobucket 3rd party" therr are quite a few people talking about it, it seems to have started rolling out about a week ago.

Hi,

I do not us Photobucket but I have had quick look at the terms/conditions.
Do you pay for your account or do you use the "free" account with a storage limit of 2GB They say they will suspend an account immediately if you go over this limit and you have to take up a paid for account option for extra storage to. The most expensive of these paid for accounts is conveniently $399.99 a year ( what else are they going to push/pressure you with except the most expensive) and is the only one allowing 3rd party viewing.
They also seem to say they can remove pictures etc to bring your account under the free/paid for data limit if accounts are not upgraded or dealt with in a timely manner.

They also say the Terms were revised yesterday - 28th June. Bit naughty if you were not made aware.

Well mine is ok at the mo and has been since I started this thread. That said I have been backing everything up from the site and downloading back again. In the process some of my links are down but hey ho I have the pics that are important to me.
The free hosting is hard to find behind all those firking pop ups and links though, tossers :doh

I agree, riddled with pop-ups that really do get in the way of what your trying to do.:(

Im sure theres a program you can use to download all your images from photobucket without having to mess with them.

imgur is good for image hosting but don't think it auto resizes them to the size you need for the forum. Plenty of programs out there can do it before you upload to imgur.

I've used Flickr for years and never had any problems. I also used Zenfolio as a paid service but that was more useful for selling images.

Look at Banshees signature on any of his posts. Looks like Photobucket are on self distruct mode.

A couple of threads now starting to look a bit odd as the Photbucketofpoo rev counter is appearing everywhere.

 Just been on the photobucket site, you've now got to subscribe for pic links to work!

Is either of our mods able to help modify my project threads if I find a way to host the photos please. It'll take some time to get organised and also some time to modify but it should bring the project threads back to life.

I think the issue us to do with the size if your bucket :lol
How about downloading your non linked pics back to yourself to get under the 2gigabytes limit. Mine is working fine but then I only have 1.6 on there now 🤔

I don't know how hard it would be to set up, but some forums Host their own images...
