Firefox 4 is quite an improvement :)

Chrome is the quickest still though. On Mac OS X anyhow.

agreed, but i just cant get used to Chrome, its just so fast, stable and easy touse...lol

well i still got major issues with my pc , but clive is working his way through them :thumb2

If you clear all cookies you lose saved logins etc :) My favourite forget too.

However, if you're having speed issues;

Have Windows auto update on or remember to check every Wednesday eveing using Windows Update. Take everything, even Internet Explorer upgrades as Windows Update uses IE and the interdependencies of updates can catch you out. If you try to use Firefox for Microshaft updates, you have to do the whole shenanigans manually.

Essential Firefox add-ons: Flashblock.
Other add-ons: Fission is nice, Quicknote is handy.

Reset your router/modem every fortnight minimum.

Get Spybot Search & Destroy (freeware) and run it weekly.

Get CCleaner (freeware) and run it fortnightly. Remember you'll have to redo your logins. Use the basic cleanup option and the registry clean. For the registry clean, run the scan, then choose fix all - no need to review every bloody thing, it's good.

I have some Firefox tweaks listed somewhere, I'll try to dig 'em out for you.

thanks mate :thumb2 , clive has installed / deleted some stuff ,and it seems to be working better , but it still has issues , for example not being able to find the server at bbc.co.uk :eek: , and other servers too , it seems to find servers when it wants to ( not often )......new av found a trojan too :eek:

yeah theres still some issues to fix Peter, ideally id like to uninstall the tcp/ip and re install fresh to try and eliminate what the problem is, although you are running vista, and unless you have that bang up to date, it aint gonna run right.

cheers clive , even though this lappy is getting on for 3 years old , its still quite high spec , when i first got it i couldnt keep up to it lol ,almost as soon as i pressed enter i was on the web page ... now i can go and have a cuppa , go on holiday , sleep for a few hours ...... lol , it would be nice to have it like it was , because like i said its still quite high spec even after all these years

only way to have it like it was, is to start all over again.
