Managed to get a bit done today I between shopping etc. The bump stop has stayed in place thank goodness. I've removed front bumper and bullbar for some rust treatment.

Removed the grill to see what state the front panel is in and ordered some etch primer and wire wheels for the drill.

better than mine, looks like it needs some work though.

I had a poke around with a bloody great screw driver after these pics and found a couple of holes but nothing too bad. So shouldn't be too much work

The sun is out so getting a bit of rust treatment done. Using a wire wheel on drill to take as much as I can off then treating with kurust ready for some etch primer when it gets here.

The front bumper is in really good condition, just some light surface rust to the back of it so no problem with that but the mounting brackets are a different story. Some of the bolts are completely rotten aswell so might need new brackets if I can find some:(

Haha I don't know how I posted that twice and without pics on second post lol. That wing is far worse than it looks unfortunately so may need a new one so wish me luck with finding one.

If you can't find a great condition wing straight away you could cut out the rot & rebuild it with fibreglass & bodge for the time being until you find the wings

To be honest sweety that's probably what I will end up doing or atleast welding new metal in for the easier parts then filling the rest. Just have to make sure I make templates before cutting the rot out.

Hi Spinna, don't know if this helps but try going on e-bay France as a couple of weeks ago I saw a post for new plastic wings that didn't look too expensive. There is also a site here in France called Leboncoin which you can tap in Patrol GR and select whole of France, there are loads of breakers, usually marked auto pro but also lots of private sellers breaking Patrols some are reasonably priced and some not.I saw a couple of 4.2 diesels on there including what looked like an Australian import judging by the side indicators, rare over here as the 2.8TD was the european spec vehicle. If you can't find it give me a shout and I'll take a look:thumb2

Thanks for that Clive I will have a look and let you know how I get on:)

This is the bash plate from under the radiator after rust treatment and several coats of etch primer. Ready for top coat now when I get some.

With the wing off I have better access to rear of front panel. Think some plate will need welding in here but in all fairness inner wings are mint just a touch if surface rust down the seams
