Ha Ha Ha! Very good!

They preformed very well.... As I knew they would.

But before I do... A new picture!

Thought the Old Girl could do with some more lights.... So I made that a thing!

I love the look of that, a 4wd needs round spot lights at the front, there's just something classic about the look.

I've often thought of doing something similar but slightly worried about airflow coming in. Have you noticed any difference in water temperature with your gauge?

That was a concern of mine too... But the looks outweighed my concern! :lol

As of yet, no. But I will keep you posted if I notice something!

Got a couple of random jobs done tonight...

Completed the wiring for my roof rack lights.

Pictures of the switches to come when there in their final position!

Also cut the radiator top hose for the coolant temp gauge.

Getting the wires to the roof lights has been something that I've been agonising over for a while now. But recently I decided on a route that would keep those pesky wires as hidden as possible.

First off, open the rear passenger door and drill a hole. There's three separate layers to get thru, but it's easy drilling!

Next a hole in the in the gutter rail just above it.

Feed wire through the two holes and add some silicone seal to prevent water ingress.

Peeled back some interior panels to hide the wires...

And once you get that wire to the floor, under the kick plates you will find yet more channels to run your wires where ever you need them to go!

I was thinking of having a detachable cable and only connecting the back and side lights as and when I need them. For the front one I might run a cable down by the snorkel and diff breathers. This is all in the future, when I have lights and a roof rack and a snorkel etc. but these are minor problems for the future...

Looking good mate :)

Yeah, mine are connected via waterproof plug above the gutter... Just in case I need to remove the roof rack for any reason. :thumb2

Jay have you put any grommets in the holes to stop outer sheath chafe on the naked edge of the holes you've made?

Can't see any in the pics? :nenau

Feel free to shoot me down if you have already :bow

Looking good bud, how are you sealing the holes?

I've got a rear led light to fit but I'm still trying to decide on route and whether to mount to the body or the roof bar.

I can't shoot you down buddy, there's no gromets... I'm hoping the silicone will reduce the risk of chafe!

Tiger Seal! :thumbs

Also painted the holes after drilling with some clear coat to reduce rust risk!

Also a quick pic of my gauges in place.

Boost gauge in the centre with Volts for the Aux battery to the left and Volts for the Cranking battery on the right.

They draw their power from relevant sources, but share a common ground that is linked thru the little switch you can see to the right of my gloves. This means I can shut them all off if i want.

(Excuse the gloves... I wouldn't usually have them in the picture, but they're hiding a little project that I'm not ready for you too see yet! :naughty)

This post feels like forever ago... But at last I can remove the gloves...
