So I brought my Maverick GLS 2.7TDi back in August 2012 and it's been a massive roller coaster ride ever since but I wouldn't have changed it for the world, my car has taught me so much and I feel a better "mechanic" for it :augie

You guys are great and I wouldn't have been able to do it without you

I made the 2 1/2 hour trip up to Ellesmere Port after seeing the car on eBay and ringing a guy called Steve, I remember the day well, I was sitting on the arm of an arm chair on a grey Friday evening looking outside through the window looking at the pissing down rain bouncing off the cars on my girlfriends drive and thinking how much I hate my crappy 1.8TDDi Focus :doh

It was up for £1100 and I talked him down to £900 on the phone after a 40 min conversation of what felt like a catchup with an old friend. I immediately had good feelings about the car and arranged to take a drive up the next day. Easy enough to persuade my girlfriend as she wanted to go that way anyways because she wanted to have a mooch around Cheshire Oaks anyways which was 7 minutes from the guys house.

We got there around mid day and after a good look round it, underneath, under carpets, inside the engine bay and a nice 20 min test drive (on my own)

I fell in love with it, I pulled back up and as I got out with a massive smile on my face I just remember him saying "don't think I'm coming down any more Zaccy boy" :lol

We went inside, had a cup of tea and as we were signing the log book over, his wife shouted through that she had found the folder he was looking for, she then proceeded to open and empty a folder full of old MOT certs and receipts for various work and parts and if I'm honest it had been well looked over.

After more scrutiny it transpired that for the first 13 years of it's life, it was owned by a wealthy 40 something woman from Derby who had the genius idea of having it professionally undersealed the 2nd year of owning it :thumb2

So here he is on a bit of wasteland the evening it arrived back in Wednesbury

The next day I treated him to a bit of light "off roading" just to make sure everything as working the way it was supposed to
Click the videos below

All seemed well to me :thumb2

A few days later my mom asked me if I could do her a favour, our wooden shed in the garden was looking a bit worse for wear and we decided to demolish it and put everything under sheets.

Mom knows a guy who was out of the work and had worked all his life in the building trade and had told us that the ground would need to be cemented for the type of shed we wanted to replace it with.

He gave Mom a list and off I was sent to fetch the materials from B&Q

It was at this point that I noticed the suspension was level :nenau I then figured out that the front must of sagged and was in need of lifting back up

The car developed an annoying rattle from inside the passengers side door which was only noticable when going over speed bumps and closing the door

After removing the door card it turned out to be a loose wire for the window motor :thumb2

You said the ground floor for the shed needs to be cemented.Surely it should be Concreted.Lol.And unless it's a optical illusion on the first pic.It looks almost level to me.
Nice truck by the way..

Sorry my mistake, I wasn't concentrating you are correct :thumb2

I think it must have been because it was on the deck in real life lol

Thanks mate, I think it still looks like that now under all the dirt

I know when I got my Maverick, it was certainly a roller coaster!

I do like yours though, just looks clean and tidy and straight, you know?

So my 12v cigarette lighter didn't work so I decided to replace it and I also decided to fit another one at the rear of the cubby hole

Not the neatest job but my brother bodged the hole and slipped with the drill :doh

Dash Lights

I decided for whatever reason that LED dash lights would be a good idea but it was a big mistake
