So while I was at James' the other day picking up parts he showed me these that he had removed from a Terrano he was breaking. I knew that mine were due a replacement as mine moved up and down the insert and bolt as the bushes were pretty much non existent and the truck felt like a boat when cornering.

Fitted them last night but came across a few issues, the metal inserts from the standard shocks didn't fit inside the polybushes :doh

Popped up to see my mate Bill up the street and see what he advised as I'd damaged the standard shocks upon removal as they were seized inside the inserts so I've had to damage the bolts and inserts to remove them.

I've also had to knock off the captive thread that's tacked to the eyelets that the shocker sits between so I can use my own nuts and bolts

I realised that the shocker eyes needed some inserts otherwise the thread of the bolts will chew up the polybushes. Luckily Bill had some inserts from a Piaggio scooter that went into the holes perfectly!!! they weren't long enough however one pushed in from either side made it the perfect length :thumb2

Then the tricky bit, the bolts we sourced wouldn't go through the inserts so........ to the lathe!!!!, Bill is truly a wizard and had these bored out to size in mins after spending 10 mins setting the lathe :clap

Now to get the guy a drink :nenau, he's had heart attacks so doesn't drink and I'm not going to condone him smoking :doh

What do you get a guy that has everything and could practically make anything he needs :lol

Forgot to mention, if Elty and Steve see this, he has offered to make us a few hundred washers for the droplinks for FREE :thumb2

PM me with details of what we need and I'll get him on the case

Looks like a good job done :thumb2

Your lucky have a Bill in your life, sounds like a great bloke.

It's Fathers day and I have just opened my presents from my kids, one of the prezzies is an Insect house that you make..... simple but effective, there are plenty of nice things you could get him, to say thanks, all depends on his age and what he likes.

Nice to have a mate like that. He could certainly make a bit of spare cash by knocking up some proper clutch pedal "top hat" bushes. Would sell like hot cakes on here.
