I only buy things I can't source anywere else
Thats cheap from main dealer. My local dealer wanted £30 for an oil filter for my T2. They never got it and I didn't get my free sump washer -rotfl-
Never had a free sump plug washer with filter from motor factors
Exactly my point, Nissan don't make filters, they either get one made by a filter maker say FRAM for thier purpose or use one that already exists, usually one thats made for summut else.
In my days as a plant fitter some of the Lister diesel engines used the same filter as a Ford escort 1300 or was it the Cortina 1600. But it was the same filter. Granted you have to be carefull as some filters are full flow, while others have a built in by-pass to allow oil to flow round engine even if filter is blocked.
You can get a manufacturers cataloge, maybe online one that gives you the specs, what they fit and the internal plumbing arrangements IE full flow or any valve's fitted, even as much info as the thread diamiter and pitch and the o ring sizes
