Hi all, wondering if anyone has had this problem before? Our 2000 2.7 diesel T2 cut out the other day while reversing. Called RAC who diagnosed that there was no power to the fuel cutoff solenoid on the injector pump. They energised the solenoid and the car started, then ran ok for a couple of days. Then it happened again - the next RAC guy put a (fused) wire straight from the battery to the solenoid which we could connect up if it failed again. This isn't ideal as my other half is a mechanical muppet and would struggle to do anything under the bonnet. Anyone had this problem before? It's intermittent and seems to happen when reversing....wonder if there's any connection? Unlikely a wire is damaged so wondering if there's a failing sensor, or problem with the ignition switch (the car has done 130k+ miles but is in good mechanical order)
