had a search on the net and nearest I have found for 97 is oil temp sens, so not helpfull, I have a toughbook with Delphi soft ware on it but does not support ABS, I guess if you want to go that route then a trip to Nissan (expensive) or your local mobile chappy, just ask him if his system supports ABS (lots cheaper than Nissan) failing that a good look round all the sensor wires and connection blocks etc for damage, corrosion etc, the speed readout on ecutalk is just that it has nothing to do with ABS, Rick

I connected the consult cable to my Terrano and I got one trouble code "Code 97 MIL: (0 starts)". What is that?

I'd clear it and see if it comes back, if it doesn't then don't worry :thumbs

i think i mentioned it earlier in the thread but i would make an educated guess that a front abs sensor wire is the cause of your abs fault.
I'm sure there is quite a detailed thread on here somewhere with a step by step guide.

Never had to replace one of those yet but heard that it's near impossible to remove one without damaging it? :nenau

its normally just the wire inside the thick rubber sheathing that corrodes over time.the sensor is left in situ and just the wire replaced.
like you say they normally have to be destroyed to get them out.

:( :( urghhhh yakky job

Tbh it's not that bad of a job.
I've probably seen worse, you never know what type of job it's going to be until you start it!!

Thanks for the reassurance though Elt :)
I've been swatting anyways, although I have spotted a few inconsistencies in the manual!!!!

However I have also been told this is a rare engine to be found in this car :nenau

I have checked all the abs sensor wires and they all look ok? :nenau

Banshee, I tried to remove that fault code but it comes back...

One thing just came in to my mind: I have installed a power box between the ECU wire harness so maybe that can make that fault code too?

I would really like to find there that abs fault is.

The simplest way to check the wire is to unplug the sensor and do a simple circuit test by inserting the probes of a meter into the two terminals and test for continuity.
Also move the wire while doing this to see if the curcuit drops.

OK you need to check very carefully what you have done here, try removing the Power Box, does the ABS fault clear, problem here is it may well need resetting, check the down loads, but these methods do not always work, did not on mine and had to get a local garage to rest it for me, you have entered a minefield, Rick

Its been a while since my last post. I have been just enjoying my Terrano everyday. Front brake pads and front shocks needs to be changed. I already bought them and I will change new ones in the near future.

This weekend I made a small upgrade to the front lights: covers. I bought these from a flea market few weeks ago and painted them green.

We made a one week trip to Estonia and Latvia while I was on holiday and here are few pictures from that trip:

Nice to hear from you and that your truck is still giving good service. Some great photos, what's the derelict building in the water?

Those pics are so cool, awesome holiday :thumb2

Jim, the prison is in a quarry which the inmates were forced to dig, Russians left and it flooded, apparently a hot spot for divers, most of the machinery is still in there as flooded so quick. According to google anyhow :lol

Tate, I am jealous, twice in one week now :D
