And now the previous poor repair on the seatbelt mounting, still can’t get over them welding good metal in and then cutting a square hole to thread the seatbelt mount through and then glueing it in place:doh

It’s the drivers side that is really going to take some work and going by the amount of time it has taken to do the passenger side this won’t be finished this side of Christmas :(

Update

Well after the last few weeks of being despondent about the truck there has been a little movement. The truck had been outside not being started for a few weeks so at the weekend I needed to move it as it was in the way, first turn and it started up without issue but then we would expect that of a Terrano.
Anyhoo matts-terrano welded the last two repair sections in place on the passenger side so once ground flat I painted with primer, seam sealer and waxoyl on the outside, inside will probably get a coat of hammerite.

And now the passenger side interior. The eagle eyed will notice that I have removed the third row of seats fixings, don’t think I’ll put those back in as we don’t use them but also the dog crate sits better without them.

Matts-terrano cut out a lot of the rot from the drivers side too. Just needs a good clean up with the wirebrush on the grinder.

So there you go guys, very slow progress which is a low point at the moment. The weather is definitely getting wintry these days and I don’t have a terrano to drive, the amount of times I’ve thought oh I’ll take the truck to carry something over the last couple of months.

To Do List

Clean off the drivers side floor, body mount and wheel arch.
Make card board templates for repair panels.
Make steel repair panels.
Paint and make good the completed repairs.
Refit interior.
Fit rear ARB link
Waxoyl underside boot rear seat area.
Fit the exhaust sections from the front pipe back.

Looking at it like this still makes me feel despondent as I’ve got so much else to do. I’m behind in my course work now due to this, the man flu and the oven giving grief too.
After this weekend the course pressure will ease off a little though will still be there. So this should give me a little more time to spend on the truck even though I can’t do a great deal on an evening.

That’s all for now.

Sounds like you are a bit like me.... you cope all the time there are one or two jobs to do, but when there just seems to be so many, and more keep piling on, suddenly it's looks like you will never finish, so what the point in starting...

Just keep on doing what you are doing, and chipping away, it's amazing how much you got done in a session this last time. :clap

Isn’t it typical there’s snow forecast again for end of the week. Looks like my course work is going to suffer again:doh

Right guys just a quick update. As you know had a lot going on over the last few weeks some good some not so. Anyway Saturday saw me and matts terrano get stuck in and complete the welding. So once the welding was completed I sprayed wheel arches and boot floor inner with primer then seam sealed and later in the evening I sprayed the inside with black stone chip as I wanted this to be dry for Sunday. Spent Sunday cleaning the masses of dust and mess from the interior before refitting the carpets and interior trims. Gave all the bolts a good clean with the wirebrush on the drill before refitting with a libral coat of copper slip. By Sunday teatime we had completed fitting the interior, rear anti rollbar link and a nice coat of waxoyl in the wheel arches and stoneguard to tidy the sills up too. Gave the truck a good wash but unfortunately some of the metal dust has rusted on to the paintwork and windows so this will need cleaning off.

So all I need now is the exhaust fitting and MOT. Called a local garage and will let them fit the exhaust and MOT but soonest they could do this is Monday so pretty much a weeks delay getting it back on the road.

On the brightside of the delay is that at the weekend I can get the truck on ramps and waxoyl the repairs and one or two other bits and pieces.

All being well She’ll be back on the road next week. Have got one or two ideas for the future with this truck. One idea is to get the sills replaced, they have been repaired but not a nice job. There is a welder in Barnsley who replaced both sills inner and outer for a couple of hundred quid and to be honest for the ease and cost I’m tempted to get this done so that I know the truck is solid and won’t need welding for some time to come. I also picked up a ns wing a few weeks ago that’s in good condition so will get this cleaned up and painted as this will definitely make a difference to the truck. Also the usual water pump will need replacing but this can wait a little while.

So lots of plans for it and fancy having a green lane trip so Banshee and co get your route planning caps on for a few simple lanes. Will let you all know once it’s MOT is passed.

Good work Jim. Sounds like a few laning trips on the cards:clap
