Sand is for winter.. I can sand our yard and road to house when it is ice on surface. It's always good to have some sand.. you may need it somewhere :nenau

Slowly piece by piece.. Today I got the rear seat belt mounting points made and welded them to the car. I was a bit skeptical how rigid it will be, but those steel plates are 3mm thick and it came out very rigid and it is not even finished yet.

Here is the right side ready for welding

After welding

Left side plate ready

And both welded

Then I started to make something for that hole

I didnt finish it yet.. maybe tomorrow.

Jesus that looks well strong and such a good job buddy :thumb2

This truck will be 50% new body.. Good work fella and nice quality.

Today something small again.

This part is ready for welding

Tested with the rear seat and seat belt

And here it is spot welded in place

Next are these.. but they seem to be very nasty to fix... :banghead

Why did I even start this project... :doh

Tate, your workmanship puts mine to shame. You are doing a fantastic job of your truck.
:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

It has been pretty quiet lately in the garage :nenau But I'm will post a big update soon and it will shock you all  :D:augie

And I thought mine was bad:eek:
Keep it up tate, worth it when it's all finished :thumb2

Ok.. I have to admit that I got bored with welding + all the other faults and bought another Terrano II which is in better condition and has better accessories. At the same time a big rock fell off my shoulders. The first Terrano will stand as a spare parts vehicle.

It was quite cheap as the starter motor doesn't work so I need to buy a new one. I need to service it and put some new toys in it. :augie :naughty

This new has only a couple of places which I need to weld and:

- A/C
- glass sunroof
- 2.7tdic with manual gearbox
- webasto :naughty
- Optima AGM battery
- leather interior with seat heating
- roof rails
- factory tinted rear windows
- K&N air filter :D
- lower mileage

holy heck after all that work.... having said that I don't think I would have taken on all that welding unless it was a classic of some sort..

I am flabbergasted, all that work and label it for spares, you must be mad, Rick

I know what you think. I made a lot of work for that first Terrano but that was just the beginning.. there was so much work left to do with that.

I found this "new" one by a mistake. I wen't to see if it's as rusty as the seller said and indeed.. it was pretty rust free after all. Funniest thing was that it is the same color than the other one. :thumbs

Now I have stripped it and lifting the body by 2" :) Here is the work in progress:
