My local club has a P&P site at Dersingham, Norfolk. About 40 miles from Peterborough.

If you decide to try Yarwell, let me know, as that is a site I would love to visit.

regards, Brian.

I think new member Kickboxer is not fat from us, I'll check.

Yes im in Peterborough, I would prefer a nice gentle trip out to start with as never done any off roading before and need to understand the capability of the truck and the controls etc, not sure a P&P is the best thing for me as a starting point unless there are some very helpful people there.

My first outing was a P&P day. First thing we done after paying was straight over a man made log bridge... Sky... Sky... Sky... Sky.. then front of truck rapidly drops down and you quickly try to find the direction of the bridge.

But you only do what you are happy with, obviously. I came away with lots of faint scratches, mud jammed into every nook and cranny, and a compressed nearside sill (Tree stump).

Not done anything since as not had time, also need some tyres, as the P&P day was on standard road tyres with about 4mm of tread.

I'll have to get my arse into gear then, as after crossing a local ford the other weekend, the carpet in places changed colour... Yes I seem to have a few holes to patch in the floor. Bought her with full 12 months MOT as well.

I have some footage of our local P&P on my camcorder. I will have to see if I can upload some for you to watch.

iv not done much off roading but im willing to get stuck in and get my car dirty :thumb2 but then again if I seriously hury my truck I wouldn't be happy but like you say you only do what you feel comfortable with! yarwell have a face book site if you on there? looks very wet at the moment, im going to order my body lift kit on Friday so I should have that fitted before we go! I've only got at tyres at tho moment but there fairly new. Should be ok????

I thought I read somewhere that Yarwell had closed... Obviously wrong info. (Thankfully)

Yeah Mate, your AT's would be miles better than my slicks!!! :D

I think a lot of the sites have newbie routes, I think also these routes will leave your vehicle scratch free.

I am sure you can have a lot of fun just learning the basics in a controlled environment.

are there many pay and play around your way? and what about green lanes? I wouldn't even know where to look around here for green lanes

My Local club uses two main sites. Both sites are used for pay and play days also the clubs trial competition. (A trial is negotiating your truck between canes pushed into the ground which must not be touched. Several of these stages make up the competition) I have yet to watch one of these events.

The sites are...

Dersingham Wood

and...

Beeston Quarry

There are greenlanes around my location as the club organises these events too. Not done one of these yet.

The Peddars way is "up the road" too. this takes you to the coast all offroad, (Nearly) also on my todo list... I need more time. :(
