i think my ignition is differrent i have`nt got a `o` to start from its letters

Hey Chumba , son sitting here reading your post says just turn ignition lights come on and do this the 6 times and follow the instructions ( he took him a couple of goes) but he has now done both my keys and all seems well if not post train fare and I'll send him on his way -rotfl- -killingme-

thanks duck i deliver to sawston regular so ill pick him up and post him back

I think you are a little confused. There is a chip in the key that is coded to the immobiliser and cannot be recoded, this works when you put the key in to the ignition, if you need a new ignition key then do as Jace has suggested.
On the other hand the door/alarm unlock buttons can be recoded as per workshop in the downloads and can be done over and over.[/quote]

does this mean that the key could appear to lose it's memory and only unlock the car and relock it but fail to start the car :?

at last all done and working -dance- .i was`nt turning key back to `o` after the sixth turn -banghead- .got another lot of instuctions off a primera site.

I am having trouble cos my new key does'nt have the trnsponder chip and the 2nd hand key is obvisouly the wrong one

me to now duck.i have one key, the wife has the other.the button broke on mine so got the one from ebay as we know.programmed it in and works great hoorray.wife goes out tries her key(the original)and comes in says car wont open  .so do the download on her key and it opens no problem.go back out and try mine and wont open   .i thought the key programmed into the car not the car to the key.any body any ideas 8O

You have to program all the keys you have one after the other after entering programming mode.
So its: Press and HOLD the unlock button on the key and press the lock button 3 times.
Release the unlock button.
Then do the same for your other key, after that turn ignition on to exit programming mode.

I need a spare key as I only got 1 when I borght my T2 & my key is getting a bit worn ( getting a small hole in it ) I was going to go to Nissan but after reading this I won't be
Do you just get the remote part on ebay or can you get the with a blank key ready to be cut ?

if you have nats imobiliser fitted you will need to get the key from nissan as they have a chip in them which will need to be programed to the ecu. You can program the central locking/ alarm key fob yourself

you can get the blank aswell on ebay but that has to be programmed by other means.ask jace he got his done localy

Ok right, in the blade half of the key is a very small chip. On one side of it is written on it has the letters CN and some numbers on the other side, you can remove this part and put it in to the blade section of the bit we got on ebay and then use the reprograme in the downloads and the key works like new, if you are un sure let me know and I will e-mail you a picture of this small chip. The blade that came with the remote has obvisously got a different transponder chip this has to be reprogramed by those oribble men at nissan  .

 OK slap my wrist for this one, I am a member of the Caravan club and got my keys cover on boomerang. enough said

on the blade part I got inside the transponder chip is red and I can't get it out

Thanks for that  I'll give Nissan a buzz & see what silly price they want   Luckerly I've set a bit of cash to one side for this

There is a cheaper option get two new keys cut at the the local shop they wont have the chip but if you remove the cover around the steering column you can cable tie the original key to the steering column so that the pick up loop reads the chip in the original key. The only down point is the imobiliser is not working.

I need a new Fob too. My fob doesn't have a sticker on the back, but the ICM (?) unit under the dash says 5WK4 785 - 418Mhz. Now, I've found loads on e-bay with 5WK4 782 - 418Mhz , but no 785's, do you think this will make a difference even though the Mhz is the same ? at only £5 I'm tempted to take a punt, any ideas ?

thanks
