update

When I've got Toby all finished and build back up 'not long now' :D I'll start making curtains etc and putting in the comforts, been doing the behind the scenes things recently, also, I've thought of the storage idea, I'll use ex army surplus ammunition cases, also camo netting for the roof rack,, I'll make him like the Terranos that the army in Malta use lol

Another update, built my leveling floor today that fits into the back to make the entire floor flat from rear to to front seats:Dalso still waiting for the fight and vents so I can fit my roof lining, we are supposed yo get 3 days of rain starting Wednesday, but most of the work on my truck is interior so no problem their:D. Will keep updates until finished:)

Thanks for the pics, how do you intent to fix the front seats down? the bolt holes look like they are under the new floor.

Good use of old roof rack bars, I shall nick the idea.:lol

that looks rather heavy duty.
Have you any rough sketches of the finished design?
I am not quite sure what your intending to put over that floor?
if its just a bed then why so heavy duty materials.
personaly. I would cut a lot of that metal out and have lift up storage compartments. even if it was just for a good tool kit.
I think I will go and start this read this thread from the start as I may be able to throw some good ideas your way. its what im good at.

Yes, I'd also would of made small draw storage in the rear boot area, About a foot higher. Then the bed platform could probably lay on the rear 3 seats. Or if the seats were removed would allowed more storage under the bed platform where they were.

He is a teenager, and is building a passion wagon, so is hoping the bed will need to be that strong...:lol:lol

got my beer googles on!
is that a strip of steel then a strip of timber then roof rack?
take out the strip of timber and use marine ply for the bed base which is the strength.
that will give you some very good storage space

Ok to answer everyones remarks, its not finished yet, bear in mind its not staying as a camper permanently, its a heavy duty design as I'm wanting it to last, the roof rack was just some bars I had in me scrap metal pile, I'm getting some MDF tomoz and making the top flat, there is also storage space underneath the rig, and no, it doesn't intrude with the rear seats when they are in place, I still need to work ans perfect it:thumb2
