Those are unusually sooty to be fair. Although your recent poor combustion is probably the cause. Make sure the reconditioner pays careful attention to equal pop pressure across ALL 4.

On a side note, I am trying some larger nozzles on mine at the moment in the hope of getting abit more fuel before having to go to a 12mm pump head. So far, results are encouraging; on a stock fuel map it is akin to running a tuning box or re-map but with more top end.

yes i was hoping the amount of soot on no1 meant it was dodgy.i dont think others were right as soot has built up one sided so they are not bugger whats the word im looking for.

yep, they look poor. No1 injectors needle will be caked too, thus affecting the signal sent back to ECU thus affecting injection timin etc. Fingers crossed a good refurb will fix it but id still keep in mind that the actual sensor is on its way, so dont be too dissapointed if you still have issues...

Hi all, I am thinking of having my injectors refurbed, im also getting the code and symptoms of needle lift sensor, I scoped the sensor and am getting a flat trace so im pretty confident that its buggered, i was going to send the 3 injectors to diesel bob, has anyone used him?? also does anyone know where i can get a new no1 injector?
many thanks matt

Maybe just me, but i would not recommend, had my truck in, unable to find/fix the fault and ended up with extra damage.
Possibly better with mail order repairs but i will not use him again.
