Deffo sounds like starter, Don't waste your money on a new battery like myself and Banshee did!! As my new battery just masked the real issue for a few days!! Want to be paying somewhere in the region of 90-110 for a decent starter..lots of inferior ones to be had on flea bay!! As far as the CKP sensor goes think I am right in saying Hitachi MAF then CKP will be between the belts at front held in by one 10mm bolt, and Bosch MAF CKP will be on the bell housing at the back of the engine!! Someone will be along to correct me if I am wrong, hope you get it sorted soon.

Didn't go buy a new battery. I had one thats only a few months old that I got for a Merc I had. But it was slightly lower on the amps than the one I got on the terrano.

But what I have got is a set of injectors (used).

Am thinking of buying another starter motor. Was going to get one from eBay for £87 but if your saying that they are crap can you recommend somewhere to get one or a www site?

ebay will be fine, just make sure its a good seller, and its NEW, NOT refurb.

I did mean the solenoid yes, but really you just need to remove the cable, clean and refit nice and tight. if the starter is old, then the issue is almost certainly that.
