sheila has just popped home to get changed because she has to go somewhere , so i popped out to the disco , and tried my magnetic mount on it for a giggle ...... it sticks to the roof !!!!! ..... i thought discos where alloy or aluminium ???

its a 200 series tdi auto disco ..... isnt the roof alloy then ? :nenau

the only part which is metal is the roof as far as i know.

search out elty's posts from couple of years ago, he made a roof mount for his rig.

in old t2 used sit my little midland 98 in centre console. have done same in troll but
intention is to move it into an almost din size cubby hole inb top middle of dash
above the head unit. it will then be just deciding to stick with my mini stinger on
mag or adopt a fixed mount. the latter would mean set up all time but also possibly
not give best ground frame.

like idea of a d pillar mount, with quick release, handy for drivers door.
mag mount is good, but cable thru door seal a compromise, plus potential for
leaks in downpours?
the mag is handy to achieve good plane, help??

now then briggie, what about this crah course/FAQ section on cb?

not sure as yet how to format it, whether to post seperate aspects of cb radio , or to lump it all together , the trouble with putting it all together is simple basics can be lost in the thread , and opens up the opportunity for digression, which doesnt really help anyone ..... im thinking .
