Hi all as in the title really when ive left the truck overnight it has a missfire from cold like its struggling for fuel, all lines have been checked and no leaks i do get limp mode every now and then with code 95 which is crank sensor anyone else had the same issue??

Might be two seperate issues?

Do you get any smoke at start up?

Could be glow plugs perhaps.

Also despite you checking fuel lines guys on here have suffered air in the system, some people replce the short rubber fuel pipes near the main fuel filter with clear so you can see any air bubbles.

Besides main fuel filter there is a mini filter where fuel lines connect to injector pump. There's been plenty previous posts about this and I think there is even a download.

Also as said cps sensor but when that went dodgy on mine it caused tickover issues when warm.

Cheers for the replies... Glowplugs have been changed and i by-passed the fuel filter using a clear inline one so i could see any bubbles, There wasnt really any when i checked as you mentioned smoke there is a puff of white smoke when it starts to missfire then it clears and its fine again until left all night.

I could be wrong but as far as I'm aware white smoke often means fuel starvation due to air getting in.
See what Rick says when he logs on later.

I'm going fuel on this one, fuel filter, banjo filter on top of the IP and swirl chamber in the tank are the favourites for blockages :doh

Head gasket, whilst standing water seeps into cylinders then gets burnt off in a few seconds causing misfire.

I'd say that's a last resort, I've only ever known of 1 head going on one of these trucks since being a member of this site.

I'd say far more likely to be a fuelling issue than a head :thumb2

Water tester alternative if you are too shy to buy a Condom

take rad cap off put a condom over and fire it up.head leak will blow up dunki.

There is a more Scientific test than the inflated condom. There is a test kit that we use at work to test the coolant liquid, it detects the presence of combustion / exhaust waste in the water.

I've used Panelbeater's method before, works fine :thumb2

Should stick straight up if there's combustion gas in the coolant.

Hahaha loving the condom method but the prices of them these days is shocking.... £9.00 for 6. But seriously back on topic dont think its the head, Have checked the coolant for traces of combustion gas and also if you undo the rad cap when hot there is a little bit of pressure but nothing to indicate a blown gasket. But thinking about it i do have to top the water up in the expansion bottle every couple of weeks. Had a look underneath today and it seems someone has ran a new rubber fuel pipe from about half way down the car and cable tied it up to the chassis and across to the passenger side wheel arch to the filter. It looks like a bodge to me especially with the fact that on full lock the tyre nearly catches it, So i think ill start with new fuel lines front to back first. Rang nissan for the new pipes and nearly collapsed at the price so i think im going to use some steel braided rubber hose i have. Cheers again.

i ran 10mm central heating pipe from tank to across the bulkhead.comes in roll so needs to be straitened bent to follow old pipe use a bender or spring inner to stop kinking. cable tied to underside.
