Had the whole day on the truck :thumb2 One of the jobs I did was to weld up the box. Did that and then added in a little bit extra to complete the flange :)

Then trimmed it square and scribed to suit my back end :lol Drilled through and marked the floor.

Rivnuts and anti corrosion grease , as all these fixings are right over the tank.

All sprayed up with more stone chip grey

Then bolt the begger down. I'll make a gasket for it eventually.

Last thing then just another coat of paint , job done :clap

Also extended the tank breather up to roof level while I was there. Next job will be to do the fuel filler tub .
Onwards

Nice, a lot of people would have lost interest after some of the trouble you've had with it, i take my wig off to you:D

Departure angle shot looks good to me :splif

Update

Ohh lookie I can post pics again :D
Many moons after last working at the back of the Pearl I have at last finished the filler bowl bit.
I kept getting told off at scrutineering so needed to sort it.
So out with the cardboard innit :lol

Can you tell what it is yet ?
Transfer to a nice sheet of steel with good old tippex pen ;)

Cut out and fold along dotted lines in our new gizmo. It's a vice bender thing, works a treat upto about150mm

Do not insert anything

Going to build a bigger folder one day but this is cool :thumb2

All folded up I got this far and ready to weld.

Then I had to cut a hole in it at an angle to get the elipse I wanted, so the neck would be where I wanted it .

Pluged the boy in and while I made a brew he did his magic :bow

Then I got my old filler neck and rammed that right up it :naughty
20170611_160727_zpsgbtofk1b.jpg

Once that was welded up I did the usual grey stone chip finish , as per the rest of my insides :augie
20170611_174014_zpsa6c7nvlc.jpg

Then I welded my nuts  don't tell the boy :lol
20170611_174217_zpslgf5cmyy.jpg

There we go, all bolted in . I even welded in a brake pipe union so I could let dribbles out via a bit of vac pipe

Now then Mr Scrutineer, happy now :spanking:

Just a little update.
I finished the tank with stone chip paint last year. It turns out to be pants
So it's out again to have a proper paint job.
I've also got the tank guard drilled now and will paint that too.
Then refit in the next day or two.

I like finishing projects, even if it's years after they started :augie

Thats called a fluid project mate, takes as long assit takes and may or may not resemble the original idea :thumbs
