They all connect up to the same outlet which I think used to fit onto that little canister on the outside of the tank :nenau

Never seen anything like that in a T2 before, cannot imagine what it is supposed to do, so bin it, Rick

So sorry Pete, hunted high and low but cannot find valve to vent tank, I had one put aside for the day tank I was going to make but cannot find that either, Rick

Sounds like you need a tidy up Rick :thumbs

It is the top of the tank. No electrical connection to them either. They all collect to the vent .
I think they are anti spill , roll over thingies of some sort.
As Rick says, they're bin fodder now and dirt bike breather/one way valve on it's way :thumbs

For your delectation and to satisfy my curiosity , I operated on the plastic things :sly
They are definitely breathers with a one way stopper in it.

Meanwhile back in tank build land I have been prepping all the bits and bobs ready for fitting.
Cutting away old bits I don't need and cleaning up for welding.

Sender hole cut and cleaned. Drilled some big holes to allow the fixing bolts room to tighten down.
O/S end plate trimmed roughly to size.

Long stint in work today and only got an hour or so at the fuel tank.
However it was long enough to hold the hot bits for the boy to do his magic :D

Sender unit assembly also welded in. It was a bit of a mare as it was the only bit of old steel tank.

Tomorrow we'll get the last end panel on and then trial fit once more.
That'll let me get the filler nozzle positioned and the vent tube.
Should be in paint Sat :naughty

He gets better by the day Pete, due credit to him, I would like a welding contest with him, but I would fail miserably as my eyes let me down, Rick

Come on Pete. You can do it:clap we need to see this beast in action. That's tremendous work by you and your boy:thumbs

Another long day at work  so only got time to get trial fit sorted :D

That's a work of art right there that is :thumb2:thumb2

Why not try to find a local outfit that can get it electro plated, that will sort the inside n out then a splash of paint:)

or clear lacquer would look the Dogs:naughty:naughty

I am really impressed with that.:thumb2

Are you lining the winch cable slot, as the cable might remove any paint and deposit mud causing rust.

The winch cable can pick up grit and scour the inside of the slot.
So what material?

Just a thought...
