And here you can see the connections, bear in mind this is the Hitachi Maf two connections for 12v + and - and then cut the output wire from the maf, feed the output to the amp on the white wire and the amplified output on the yellow wire back to the ecu, simples, Rick

Price and availability so far has been for the Bosch Maff, the Hitachi may or may not be available or cheaper/dearer, up to Ray as to how in the end he wants to supply, but I must have one for my petrol tow motor, Rick

Rick I think I have a maf amp for a petrol somewhere. I bought one from ebay before went to the oil burner ;)
I'll see if I can find it then you can experiment with it :thumbs

Sounds good Pete, wait to hear, cracking weekend by the way, have not had a chance to look at my vids yet, mountain of mail and answer phone stuff as phone did not work in Wales, Rick

Just an update for all waiting for a MAF amp, Ray had a hiccup with a board making company, and is now looking at another, will be a few weeks but worth waiting for, as with all these things, Rick

Ray is very close to manufacturing these, he is away I think till the end of the week by which time the boards should be ready and he has ordered the components, so he then has to assemble them and put them in a box, it is a long way from a prototype that I have to a fully manufactured product that will be on offer, Rick

Are you still impressed with your prototype? not just power but across the board

it delivers more power at low revs it cannot give more bhp overall, that needs a remap of the ecu or other much more expencive stuff, Rick

You can't get that much more overall BHP 'cause the pump can't give you any more fuel
You can get there quicker though and that's what the MAF amp will do

Shipping very soon

First few are now built, those that are interested at £50 + £3 P&P, PM me and I'll get on it.
The unit is now fitted with a bypass switch, which might be good to use for the MOT smoke test.
Many thanks to Rick for testing and feedback.

It looks good :thumbs On/Off switch is a good idea

just an update on the performance, I am still at the lowest setting and it produces black smoke not too much but enough that tells me it it cannot burn all I am giving it, two problems for me now I keep doing front shafts and also the clutch is showing signs of not liking it, last Sunday I cannot put the shaft breaking down to wheel spin then landing on good ground causing a sudden grip, the nearside was in deep thick mud and hard up against a dry clay wall, winch pulling hard (26000 lbs with a block) so nearside wheel did not want to turn, I needed a lift on the front but not available, so engaged drive as well as the winch, of side wheel in the air drop clutch engine labouring at low revs but of side wheel not turning so no wheels turning, = clutch slipping let it cool for a while try again this time got some movement and it climbed out, everything was hot and working hard but the low down power is truly great, but in the process heard some nasty noises from NS front and have now lost drive to NS, have not stripped it yet to find out what has gone, Rick

Rick you need some lpg up it :sly THEN you'll know low down grunt :naughty
It'll allow you to burn that which you're currently throwing out the back.
Won't help h/s though, but loads of fun before that :lol

I have just ordered mine, and Ray has been very helpful.

Regards

Alan

Black smoke on lowest setting... is that good or bad? I dont really want smoke. Or is it nowt to worry about

I have the first prototype, and it was designed for a Bosch Maff and mine is a Hitachi which operates at a slightly lower value, Ray gave me a generic get round which worked but only just, Ray has modified the latest issue to cope so the gain can be set lower than my one, I do not mind a bit of smoke as it is only offroad, you should set yours so it just smokes then back it off a little so it does not you will then be at the highest gain without smoke, Rick

Rick has pretty much summed it up.
So, the current unit now is adjustable from unity to X1.5, so at it's lowest setting it will be doing nothing!
I will ship them set to X1.1, which seems about right for most road going applications.
