All this stuff ready for the service! Tackling it all myself, bit nervous - and hoping it'll be easy enough. Got the MOT booked for tomorrow afternoon, then tax and insurance. With any luck I'll be on the road tomorrow night! Then later this week mini filter and a few jobs.

Also bought a steam cleaner today and did all the dirty nooks and crannies, it also brought the leather up beautifully and I recommend a steam cleaner to anyone, she's absolutely gleaming inside now, looks as good as the day it came out of the sunny Spanish factory in 98.

Is it normal to love a car? I've owned some sweet cars in the past from new BMWs to my vRS but I've never had such an attachment to a car as I do my lovely old T2!

awesome buddy, I know what you mean, despite the large amount of problems I have with mine, I love it too!

its good to do the service yourself, I think you will do just fine. Good thing about these cars is you can get under them easy-you dont have to rely on jack stands.

Have you done the LSD oils? if not, add that to your list...!

Do the Service after the MOT just in case you you create a leak:eek:

just a quick tip from me, when changing the oil filter i find it easyier to remove the front nearside wheel , remove the rubber inner arch and access it through the gap, still spill a little. Unless you have very long arms and can reach from the top.
have fun

It is normal to love a car:cool: my terrano Is called Toby. And he comes before family:D

yea it is normal to love a T2, I love my work motor, the missus loves hers, (woe betide me if I make it dirty) and I love my yet to be used SWB off roader, with lovely winch yet to be fitted, and I feel sad about the scrapper that I robbed bits off and still have, but great motors, recently when I discovered some nasty tin worm on a major chassis member I thought it was a goner, and started looking for another but was not happy, then found a guy to weld it, was I happy, you bet, Rick

If you own a terrano/ maverick or mistral, you're guaranteed to form a family relationship with it :D

Thanks for the advice boys, I'll get it serviced on wedenesday then, and do diff oil and mini filter too! Front and rear diff? And the gearbox?

I know what u mean about the sentimental value... My bro owned her from new in 98, I went with him to pick it up... I was 11 at the time! He shed a tear when he sold it to me at little brother prices, not because of the price but because it was going from him, he demands updates via Facebook lol.

I love it, more than anything including the bint I just sacked off for being a financial leech and still seeing her ex :(

I think this is a great forum and I'd like to meet you guys badly! Have a cuppa and a chat!

Happy T2'ing peeps. Happy to be one of the club!
