If my week wasn't bizarre enough, my 2 week old (to me) 3.0 now has a knocking from the box
It goes away if I dip the clutch in neutral, but I can't really hear it when driving.
My thoughts? clutch and flywheel and I bet its dual mass....
Do not know if the 3.0 box is similar to the 2.7 but they rattle/knock when idling mine has done it since I bought it 3 years ago, oh and it whines to, Rick
I only get whining when ive got a woman in the car :augie:lol

So you are going For POLE position then.:lol:lolI get a screaming when I have a women in mine......that's not supposed to sound how it did i mean with my fast driving
Whining is layshaft bearings. They usually last a while but nine decided to go with a screaming noise then a bang and that was that, put a new box in.
But that was not a T2 box was it, world of difference, Rick
Yup, 1993 td27
Yup, 1993 td27
Simples really with air con on the engine is loaded so smoother, AC off and engine idles a little more erratically, do not worry about it, Rick
Hope it does'ntWith the foot off of the clutch, mine clatters a bit, which I believe is the lay shaft bearing. It was doing it a 43k miles and doesn't sound any worse now at 78k miles... that'll jinx it for sure!
Regards
Alan
Sorry Ryan must of missed that one, but in my experience so far the T2 box is a strong box, and I do tend to mistreat them work wise, Rick
So you are going For POLE position then.:lol:lol
