Well, i would advise take one last run (Soon) or just say good bye to the peaks from behind your computer screens.
Because they are going to close all the lanes up there we love to drive and then the peak's will be no more.

The turn out for yesterday was disapointing to say the least, about 30 trucks and about 20 dirt bikes for the protest drive and due to that i dont feel it had any impact on anyone and i would be very suprised if anyone made a complaint.

And as much as it pains me, the Landrover people where the ones that were most inforce to turn up, making up about 90% of the vehicles (Not including the bikes)

Dont worry if your too far away and you dont drive this area, because as soon as the council close them here the rest will follow suit, they will work out its cheaper to close them than it is to keep them open, and if no one is objecting to them being closed then thats the way forward.

If the runs go the websites will follow as there will be no point in having a site to plan runs we can not go on anymore. You may get the odd ones stay alive like Nissan 4x4 becuse they dont do runs as such, they just talk about fixing stuff all the time, with the odd post from people that have been out.

Feel free to have you say below, and even to email the council and demand to know why they are closing them.

At the end of the day the councils actually don't have to close them. The cars are being priced off the road anyway. The cost of fuel, tax (most 4x4's are in daft brackets) and the cost of insurance and restrictions imposed by insurance companies. The cheaper to tax earlier models of terrano certainly are ageing badly now and rotting in to the ground too.

The End Is Nigh:thumb2:thumb2

Some info my mate sent over to me...

http://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/looking-after/vehicles/current-tro

Can't see GLAS... but then;

http://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/looking-after/vehicles/usergroups

So it appears that they are involved but as part of another organisation..

They seem to know about what's happening but don't seem to have a plan to counter the TRO's .

GLASS Footnote: The correct title for the "Peak District Vehicle Users Group" is the "Peak and Derbyshire Vehicle User Group"; this Group includes members from GLASS, TRF and other non-affiliated MPV user groups.

I think, GLASS aren't up for holding the fight in thier own name, so they team up with others. The problem with large consultation groups is that concensus is hardly ever reached. 'Too many chefs' as they say... 'spoil the broth'.

I think its club time... time to get the wait of local club members to target these committees and start to bring them in to line.

If you are in more then this club, get your other one involved or we are going to loose. Its that simple....

very sad phil , i dont actually go laning etc , but i have sympathy for those who do ,its more about the right to use these lanes , but i suspect the actions of a minority who disrespect the rules is affecting the majority in this case ,

BASTARDS! Another example of the council f*****g things up, that's all they seem to be good at, as least here anyways:rolleyes:

You are correct Pete. However they drive up the road out side my house at over 70mph and its a 30 limmit, i dont see them closing this one though. :(

If we are going to have any lanes left we need to suport this before its too late.

I would request a moderator to pick this up and push it for the next protest.

We are looking at doing another one with more trucks and have got good suport from likemindedlaners already. They had about 7 trucks there sunday.
