So Guys, I thought I would update this post. It’s been a hell of a 14 months white knuckle ride with operations, sepsis and coping with my new life as well as coping with the feelings and emotions that all this has left me with. Unfortunately my brother lost his fight with cancer back in November.
So I’ve come a long long way and although I’m not back to full fitness and not too sure I will ever be the same I’m feeling great! I still get tired easily and the stoma causes me a few issues from time to time but on the whole I’m fine. So both myself and my wife have changed our plans about life and are now doing things or going places instead of waiting. We have wanted a camper for years, so we’ve been out and bought the best base van that we could afford to convert. We are not waiting to finish the conversion we are just getting off when we want as the van is but winter weather has put a stop to it at the moment. I’m back at work full time, even back in my extra role. Certainly ore active than I have been. I’m starting to get involved with cadet activities again though I have to be careful of course.
I had on my bucket list the BA Training and Smoke House at work, well at the end of the month I have a days BA Training and an exercise in the smoke house with all the kit on. Totally looking forward to this adventure, definitely taking things back from cancer.
I had my 6 monthly checks and scans which eventually after delays came back clear though they had found some nodules that they are not overly concerned about but will monitor.
It’s now time for the 12 month appointments and these are quite crucial. Already had a blood test in advance of a ct scan in a couple of weeks. A couple of days before that I have an appointment with urology. At some point a cystoscope but not too sure when. So fingers crossed that these all come back clear.
Thanks for all the genuine support from all my friends on here and throughout the world that I live in.
I’ve got a hell of a lot more chaos to cause so this year is my year :thumbs
