Just thought i`d pop on here and say hi :thumb2 Well its my first day in a 4wd after buying an old 98 2.7 touring in dr2 over silver,and i must say im impressed with the old girl . ive got the task of the bubbles on front wings,and a couple of plates on rear inner arch which isnt difficult,but it has been looked after for the past eight years by an old couple. looking forward to starting the work on it. hope to meet some likewise members this year

The wings are notorious for Roy, as is the underside. If she is clean treat her now to prevent. As I say every time everyone on this forum is very helpful and there's a whole bunch of knowledge :thumb2

welcome aboard, the wings do like to ROT as do the sills and rear seatbelt mounts but all easy jobs if you can weld or know someone that can, plenty off great info on here :thumbs

OMG!!! Cant believe how many replies ive had, lol thanks for the warm welcome!! i will put some piccys up when i get time ,its pretty much standard, i bought it with full service history, and yes ,the rear seat belt mounts on both sides have gone so i expect i`ll be stripping the carpet and seats out ready to plate. just looking at mig welders on the bay, although i am a competent welder. may as well just buy a new welder just in case anyone else needs to use it hehe :lol Im from a little village called gt wyrley by cannock chase, nice to see another local. ive bought the old girl to tow a caravan,and my daughters horse trailer occasionally, but i do hope it snows!!!!!! :sly i will join as a full member tomorrow night :thumbs

cheers guys, firstly i need to sort the rusty seat belt mounts under rear arches, should do that sunday weather permitting, then im gonna rustproof the underside with schutz, then its tackle the few rusty bubbles above plastic trim on wings, lol and hopefully thats that sorted. i want to buy a bull bar, cant justify the price of a new one though, but doubt there are no second hand ones around :nenau this is my first 4x4 so i need to adjust to driving it first then i would like to jack it up a little with fatter tyres?? i will be getting ideas off the clubs members, :thumb2 as for the engine i think its great!! so just a service there. :thumbs
