First venture with a Terrano, the first one I bought went back to the dealer within a week , it leaked like a seive and was a rot box with NO advisories on the MOT! Now I've found a good one I hope, W Reg 2.7 SE+ .I've been a jeep man for years, years of trouble free fun, until recently, the electronics got the better of me on a mint XJ , so no more MOPAR, unless I find a wizard to fix it, can't put up with no proper diagnostics, Chrysler suck. I use 4x4 for towing mainly and am sooo impressed with the Terrano. I have a few problems with it that I hope to be able to solve from the knowledge base here, fingers crossed.
The one I have was only used for stop start commuting by a lady who had it for 12 years, so it got a shock when I started using it, fuel system issues I think so am using Lucas additive and hoping i'll blow the sludge out over time ( thats the advice I have had so far) , central locking doesn't function properly which doesn't bother me other than that I can't open the back door as yet and that has to be solved, and a bonkers instrument cluster that can be fixed for 80 quid or so. Onward and upward

Welcome Horseist, 12 years old, you got a young one then lol....
Fuel could be the main filter, or, if fitted, a small filter mounted in a banjo nut on the injector pump.
How many miles has it done, when was last service, when were all fluids last changed?
The indicator issue can normally be sorted if you are handy with a fine tipped soldering iron.
So now you already feel comfortable having had your £10 money's worth... lol there are many posts on both these issues, have a look in the search proceedure, if after a while, if you can't find a suitable one, I will reluctantly put my brandy down and find a few lol...:lol
Only joking, you will find us, a very friendly bunch on here, with plenty of friendly banter, rarely any bad language, and discussions on lots of other subjects other than fixing our 4x4's as we like to drive them not keep fixing these great reliable trucks.
Don't ask me how long I have had mine, but see signature below. lol

Terrano r3mR to Jeep via Hyundai Santa Fe !

Not through choice really but we have gone from Nissan to Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD the ride of the Nissan was way better than the Jeep.

Jeep has done 10 k miles over the last 11 months we no mechanical issues just one day I could not get the key out and rear ARB links had to be replaced.

Fingers crossed for the second year of ownership, started ok it passed it's MoT !

Our old Terrano we had for around 5 years with no mechanical issues of any kind worth mentioning.

Did no one tell you that's what it stood for?

Welcome mate :thumb2

Boy you've made the right decision joining up, you'll never look back.

Elaborate on you're fuelling issues, I'm sure we've seen it before and will get you fixed, I must have had every fuelling issue going but mostly my fault (I run vegetable oil/ homemade BioDiesel in mine)

welcome mate, lets have some more info on your fuel/engine problem, instrument cluster can most likely be fixed by resoldering the pins on the board, Rick

I'm gonna keep trying with the jeep, I had a 300C too, but diagnostics are such a problem, it seems you only have to say Chrysler to specialist aut electricians and they jus say ' I don't touch em'

Hi, Well my experience had been different up to now, Had
a 97 XJ 4.0, bought it 7 years ago with 37K at 97K the immobiliser packed up, all it had in the time apart from consumables was a water pump and a rad, it never ever broke down. I had another too on gas, X Reg, fantastic truck but the blind postman took me out on a country lane bend ( I was his 4th victim) so that was that.

Many thanks. OK, it was bought from a woman who had it for years, she just used it for commuting in stop start traffic, 40 mins a day each way, obviously not a great scenario but its so tidy..... On the way home it chucked out a bit of black smoke when I floored is bu settled down well. My jeep buddies (who have forgiven me:D) said that the cat , turbo and other things would be sludged up so use additves and just drive it and it should sort itself, first I used redex, now I've just added lucas to a fresh batch of fuel. A cuple of days ago after a long journey I started up again at a garage and it wouldn't rev properly. Turned it off, started again and it was fine, this has happened 6 or 7 times now, once while driving, loss of power, hard shoulder, started again, OK. I'm told it could be clogged EGR valve and to remove it? It has some other issues but thats all relating to fuel /occasional power loss....

Thanks! The led part is fine, it packed up at 40K miles and she didn't bother getting it fixed ( must have known the MOT guy?) The LED par is as good as new, any detail on what t resolder?
