Help with fault codes

Hi all,
Trouble with my motor can ne1 help me with these codes and hopefully get the old girl purring

Its either
47, 11 & 12

or 47 & 32 can't find 32 on the workshop downloads so assume i couldn't read the codes and its the later one

I've looked at the w/d and found that
47 ckp sensor incorrect signal
11 fuel inj pump position sensor incorrect signal
12 maf sensor circuit malfunction

Are these related? what do i do next? i've removed maf (hitachi) when fault finding before and it felt like the car had been put on bricks

Hello Giggsy,

Some of the codes may be stored old codes; to be sure I would erase the codes and then re-read the codes after the mil light comes on again.

finally reset the ecu and gave the car a run, the fault is 47 crankshaft position sensor, incorrect signal. Any idea how to sort this fault?

give face scensor a wipe may just be muck blocking signal worth try before splashing out on new one!

Giggsy,

The sensor is located in the top right hand side of the clutch bell housing and can be removed from the right hand side of the engine bay; you can see it just behind the engine block. It takes its reading from the flywheel and tells the ecu the engine position and speed.

Is the sensor visable from the engine bay or from below as i can't see much besides the turbo and its bits? is there any pics on the site which show its position

Sorry it’s the opposite side to the turbo, right hand side when sitting in drivers seat, not when standing in front of the engine, I should have mentioned that.
It’s just visible, locate the wire to it and follow it back.

looked on nissans service guide even that showed it on the left (as viewed looking into the bay) so i'll let you off! :smile:

I've loads of oil spray leaked over that side so hopefully it'll just be cack on the sensor, still haven't managed to get to see sensor yet though. Anything besides the cooler i can remove to aid access or should it be easy enough with just the cooler removed. Where does the wire head to also to aid my finding of said sensor.

Just to add to my woe the crankshaft sensor on my car has begun showing a fault!!! :evil:
