Ignore my comment about not reving over 3500 at idle. Long story......
Anyway,
Checked the turbo for operation just to make sure the boost was coming up and works fine (although not put a turbo guage on yet)
Decided I'd give it a go with the EGR disconnected.
EML was lit on the dash now BUT drove just like before. Not an ounce of difference!
Any other ideas?

Sometime I wish all cars still just had carbs!!!
Give me a classic engine and I'm as happy as a pig in mud! :thumbs lol

Are we sure this isn't a fuelling issue?

I'm sure the guys get sick of hearing from me so I've took a back seat on this one but feel like chirping up now :augie

So reading, you said that the car is a CAT C and has had a repair to the tank and lines, I would therefore start here.

A shunt from behind could have caused damage to the fuel lines, a kink maybe that has now resulted in a hole causing the IP to suck air through with the fuel?

An easy way to test this would be to replace the feed and return pipes on the fuel filter housing with some 8mm ID clear hose, this will then show what you have actually got going through the filter, if you're taking on air, you'll see bubbles in the lines separated by blocks of fuel.

I have lengths of this stuff ready to go in jiffy bags cut to size, drop me a PM with your address and I'll get you some out for the price of £3 posted :thumb2

I'd then be getting the socket set out and checking for that dreaded mini filter on the top of the IP

Here's how to do it and what you're looking for, dead easy things to check and cheapest to start with

Sorted!

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to update everyone.
The trucks all sorted now!!!
I checked the pump banjos for gauze filters and they were either taken out before or were never fitted. Blew the fuel lines clear back to the tank and that did nothing to help so supply was fine.
Got the new MAF sensor and boom! Idles better than when we got it, runs like a dream and pulls like a train (even better than before) so I guess it was failing when we got it and I just finished it off.
Needless to say, Thanks to everyone for their help and advice!!! All greatly received and welcomed
Now time to start a new post :)
