Hi, having missed what looked like a great Greenlaning day I have turned to youtube to provide some form of 4x4 sustenance.

I have notice quite a few clips for 'Cheltenham Quarry' or Cheltenham Off-Roading'.

I searched the Cheltenham councils webite and found the Dis-used quarries are authorized for the use of 4x4 vehicles but prohibited to Motorcycles... GREAT!

BUT they say enter via Daisybank road RUPP... i looked this up on the aerial maps but could not identify the Quarries.. I dont want to drive around all day looking for them.

Are the maps old? are the quarries still there?
How do i find the quarries?
I was told Gloucester 4x4 club run days there but i cannot get hold of them.

I wish to (with a friend to pull me out) take a slow get to know my vehicle day at our leisure this Sunday...

Thanks for any help.. disparately looking for legal places to 4x4. I dont want to upset the authorities and spoil 4x4'in for us all.

 :?:

Hello Jace, Not sure about this as you say hes not been on a lot lately.

But i have him down as being in Middlesex, Near Heathrow, Unless he has moved!.

Could it be the place that sharkie went once?, It was orange sand, Some photos in the gallery i think.

Maybe Roadrunner or Greasemonkey could Help.

Hello Shedlugger, I have sent a PM to them both, I will post any reply from them that i get with details.

I also did a google search and i came up with a few bits about other clubs that had been there before but did not find an address for them.
Would be good if you can find a post code then go on google earth and have a look at the site.

Mav.

did that

Cheers Mav,

I did find from the cheltenham coucil website that access is through a RUPP of Daisy Bank Road which is half way up Leckhampton Hill.

So i google mapped, Flashearth and MS vurtual earth searched for both names but could not see a playground...

Hmm... hope it isnt goign to be a wasted journey, shes a jucy girl...

Location for all who wanna play...

Right if you use GPS, www.flashearth.com, google earth etc here are the co-ordinates..

51 54' 24.1"N, 2 0' 46.7"W

For everyone else Find Harp Hill in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham and then proceed up Aggs Hill towards the pylons, turning is on the left but if you get to the end its a dead endwith a carpark for kite flyers and wanderers... turn around and go back down... turning then on the Right.

See you there sometime, i will post when i am next going there....
