Bore away, tis interesting stuff. I was surprised to find it still with all four of its original wheel trims when I bought it. And three door too.

Its only a shame someone circa 1987 chopped a bloody great hole in the roof and stuck a pop up sunroof in it.

44,000 miles on the clock - giffertastic motoring (and something simple for my lad to work on whilst he is studying a motor mechanics course at college). Chasing the tin worm with it though :(

They were nice cars along with the old B11 Sunny of the same elk. Fantastic find tho I gotta say. Only things to watch on those is the timing belt. The heads sometimes cracked but I reckon if yours was going to it would of done by now. Core plugs tend to rot out, there's one or two under the inlet manifold that used to confuse people when they leaked.

Best of luck with the Terrano search.

If you go for an earlier one besides rust check the 4wd as the front auto hubs can be stuffed if the transmission hasn't been used correctly.

Timing belt done :)

Todays trip out was a bit fruitless. One dealer shut with the Terrano firmly locked away behind a six foot metal fence, the other one... Well...
Bubbly B pillar
Both sides felt rather crispy

Borked Zorst

The underneath was typically in this condition:

Some bits had been gunked

That looks like a shed was it one for £2000 Terrano doesnt have a timing belt:doh

No. The timing belt on the N12 has been done :thumbs

Yes that was the SWB up for £2000 I went to see today.
Didnt rate it at all. I did however think that perhaps the SWB may be a teensy bit small for me, so every cloud and all that.

The red LWB Im going to see on Wednesday night and there is the other LWB one near Blackburn to look at but god knows when I'll get chance to go and see that as Im working from tomorrow til next Monday 7.30am to 8pm each day except Wednesday, when I finish at 5pm, and I dont know why but that one ( the LWB Blue one) is winking at me...

i like the terrano so much now i have 5 to care for lol:lol

Are you operating some sort of Terrano breeding programme? Releasing ones born in captivity back into the wild? I have a mate who seems to be trying that with rusty Citroens...

Iz be a caravan engineer
Shame you are in Wilts. I have a 2007 Bailey with what I suspect is a borked gas valve on the grill at the moment. There is no difference in flame output between high and low settings and the heat output is poor, went without warning. Rest of they stove working OK so it doesnt seem to be a feed problem.

Only pic I could see was the rear diff, but it looked manky...

As someone on here mentioned, he went to view a terrano in a showroom, poked a hole straight through it and left rather hastily :lol

hi and welcome to the site.
would go with the lwb for towing i've got a swb and towed a horse box round last summer with it about 1600kg with the horse , it pulled no problem but could be a bit twitchy sometimes .

ian.

don't forget to look at earlier ford mavericks, (round headlight model up to 98/99). Same as a terrano, Unless you want something that looks a newer.

Got my maverick for £750, Barely any body and chassis rust. No sunroof, no abs. lovely.

Well, erm... I appear to have bought this.

I think it will keep me busy and out of mischief.

Looks like a nice motor that does mate, it looks in good nick and I love that colour.

Not sure on the sidestapes mate but you may like them

What are your plans for her and are you going to run her on veg oil?

Lwb :D :thumb2

Nice looking motor. Now it's just off to costco to buy some ktc :augie

Bought off a Forum member.

Initial plans are to get through an MOT (due July) couple of small jobs first off for that, then fix the boot door leak, fit a CB radio, go round it with some shutz. Possibly tackle the front wings, possibly not they are not too bad. Fix the radio aerial and take it out to play.

Not sure if the diff oil wants changing as it seemed a little bit skittish from the back end on some corners I took, plus I was constantly in fear that it wasnt in 2H as the knob didnt want to go any more forwards than this:

But I seemed to find all the points in the hi-lo box so assume thats where its supposed to live.

But ultimately Im going to have a spot of fun with it and generally p*** my mate off who spent 12K on a Discovery to go "off roading in" then wont take it off road because he is frightened of damaging it :)
