I was not sure about using the plastic ones.

I thought with the addition of coolant/antifreeze, and the pressure supplied by the radiator cap, they effectively increases the boiling point of the water, to a fair bit hotter than 100degrees. IIRC it is about 140degrees, and also 14 or so PSI, which can be a bit high for a lot of soft plastics.

I went for these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brass-pip...hash=item2ec0001c55:m:m1yxhHk5-d1JYhzNHtL3dRQ

Yeah I have been running SVO for a few months now due to being all in the air with a new shed I'm building to process my BioDiesel in, the Terrano doesn't like it neat a degree below 7 otherwise it becomes a bit sluggish and juddery

yep. ill be dropping to 50/50 soon then even 25/75 if we get very cold..

but not had to go 100 diesel yet.

OK, it's fitted :thumb2

I'll get some pics when it brightens up a bit outside, I'm super super pleased with it, the run to work this morn was like I'd brought a new car!!! 5 degrees and I'm running 100% SVO at the moment, anything above 60mph was a real foot to the floor, really struggling and juddery at this temp, this morn, gave it the beans on my favorite road and it easily revved round to 70mph with plenty more left in reserve :clap :clap :clap

I jumped out the car in the cark park at work when I arrived earlier and popped the bonnet as it was dark still when I left, this was the first time I'd seen it in the daylight as I fitted it all by head torch last night :p The fuel line to the IP was lovely and hot and no leaks or wet patches present.

I would recommend one of these to everyone, Veggie and Diesel users alike, they are commonplace on most 4x4's in the Scandanavian regions :thumb2, I thought with this "bad winter" about to hit the weekend I'd get it on quicksharp

Just found this as an alternative http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Eckes-hea...dfaba11&pid=100005&rk=2&rkt=5&sd=262117824813
I already have this kind of filter head and so may go for this option.
I'm running out of space in the engine bay :augie

The one I'm using has been fitted to the body and has the same profile as a kit kat :lol I like that setup too though, same principles, not such a good idea for those running standard filter setup though as the exchanger would not allow for the water drain plug etc :nenau
