The Terrano has just disgraced itself again this morning. Knocking and vibration from the back when the throttle's taken off. I've had enough now, to be honest. My life seems to be a constant worry about what's going to go wrong with it next :nenau

Traded it in today for a Shogun Warrior, so in a couple of days it'll be someone else's problem. I've really liked the truck, but enough is enough. So many issues for a truck that's only done 87k. It's time to call it a day

Edit: Oh yes, and the Shogun has better cupholders :lol:lol:lol

Pity you had such bad luck but sometimes it happens. Anyway enjoy the mitsi and pop back with some photos.

That's a shame, but I know exactly where you are coming from.. once a car starts to make you loose faith, it's so hard to ever fall back in love with it....

I have had it both ways, I had a make and model in my youth that everyone, and I really mean everyone hated. Even all these years on it will make any car lover groan... my particular one though was the best car ever, never let me down, ran a dream, and looked after me in a very difficult period of my life, to the point I actually nigh on lived in it for 2 years. After 4 years, and 200K miles, I traded it in, and got almost as much for it, as I paid for it. The car in question, an Austin Maestro!!! On the odd occasion I see one on the road now, they still bring a huge smile to my heart...

On the other hand, I was lucky enough to get a Subaru Impreza Sport as a company car... It was mine from new for 3 years.... I had the biggest smile ever on my face the day I picked that beast up.... Within the first 6 months, it had 2 new clutches, 3 sets of front rotors, and numerous software upgrades. After a year, I had actually had a loan car for more of the year, than I had had my car... By the end of 2 years, that car had more rattles and squeaks than a lorry load of baby toys... I hated it and would go out of my way to travel shotgun with other people, rather than take my rattle bucket. I ended up actually buying my own car to use when not working, even though I had full use of the Subaru 24/7. Fortunately, the company folded, and the Subaru had to go back... Boy was I glad to see that car go... Ironically, 2 of my friends had Impreza's, one having the P1, and neither could understand how I could have had such a bad example, but did agree mine was a lemon... Having said that, it was still the best "Chick Magnet" I have ever driven, girls don't seem to care about squeaks and rattles... :lol

I hope one day you find a T2 to help you re-gain your trust in them, but in the mean time, enjoy the Shogun.

Thanks fellas. I'll still be popping in from time to time as I really enjoy the forum :thumb2

I'll miss the Terrano. It's really a great truck, and a superb off-roader, but as you say LF, my faith in it has gone and I'm constantly listening out for strange noises, smells, leaks . . . . or panicking that the bloody heater isn't as warm as it was, lol!!!

The new truck is a Warrior spec', so it has all the toys too :thumb2. Once I pick it up I'll get some pictures up and you can all take the piss out of me for being soft enough to want cruise control and electric seats :lol:lol:lol

Pall of mine has one of them, he calls it his 'bitsamissing' 4x4:naughty

been there with my first t2.took a year to get sorted but now i have the take it anytime anywhere feel the same as the t2 i got to get me out of trouble.even that had teething trouble.

Best the devil you know, you know what's coming next...lol

So just read my signature, saves me typing lol.

Next birthday (April) will be it's 21st birthday, :lol:lol:lol

sometimes you have to draw a line and start again... hope you have better luck with the new one..

Cheers guys. It's served me well, true enough. I can't say it owes me anything, but it's definitely time to let it go before that changes, lol!

Does seem like you had a bit of a lemon there to be honest, you would insist on buying a 3.0 :sly :hide:

I've put almost 49k on it in the 3 1/2 years I've owned it, to be fair. And some of them have been hard miles as it's been a workhorse as well as a daily driver. It'd be unfair to blame the truck to be honest, but the last few months have knocked the stuffing out of me and I'm getting a bit too long in the tooth to be rolling about underneath it every weekend. It's a solid motor, and it won't take a lot to get her as good as new. I'm just not the bloke to do it though.

She'll be appearing for sale at some point soon in Tayside. NM53EMF is her name, and I reckon anyone interested would get her for around the £2k mark. And you'll be getting a decent enough wagon if you have the energy :thumb2

Got a lot of respect for the Shoguns, loved my old one (mk2) :thumb2

Wouldn't get rid of my Trol for anything but the only reason I looked at a Trol in the first place was 'cos I wasn't keen on the all round independent suspension in the newer Shoguns :nenau

Well as a Mod, I would expect better from you Banshee, jealousy is a bad thing :p:p.
Sounds like the propshaft had issues as already said, good luck with your Shogun :thumbs

I've got her for the next couple of days while the new wagon's getting MOt'd and serviced. Funniest thing is that the noise and vibration now isn't worrying me in the slightest :lol:lol:lol

I loved my shogun mk 2 but I love my terrano  :lol :thumbs

But which is best? :nenau

There's only one way to find out....!!

Fight !!

Been a long time since Harry Hill did that line lol....
