:(:(

I just dropped my truck off for the MOT, I wonder how much its gonna fail on ?

I noticed a leaky shock on it last night :doh
windscreen washer still dont work
something started randomly clicking under the dash this morning :doh
I could not get the brake pipe off of a cylinder so its still leaking :doh

I have a feeling my bad day will get worse :(

I've always stayed with mine for mot doesnt take long and you get to chat to Mr Tester :sly
I guess you've identified 3 fails there so far :doh
Good luck with the rest of it, but if you're there then things can sometimes be sorted on the spot :naughty
Better day soon

I cannot stay there, I have to work aswell, well pretend to work :thumb2

so I will be collecting it after work, then spend the weekend working on it. if it fails on too much I may have to get a cheap runabout for a few weeks :doh

awww nuts, I told you it would get worse. I have only gone and left my breakfast in my truck at the garage :doh

So here is my plan of action:

items 2,3,4,5,6,7 = change fuse (done that now my lights all work) fuse must have gone this morning as all the lights worked when I checked them last night :doh

item 1 = new pump ordered £10 from car spares

items 8,9 = let front tyres down :lol:thumb2 err i mean adjust lights

item 10 = get area welded by a friend next week

items 11,12 = new drop links £10.95 and £8.95 from car spares

items 13,14 = new shocks £47 each car spares

item 15 = got new brake cylinder to fit but i have knackered the nut on the brake pipes :( has anyone got any ideas how I can get the brake pipe off now?

Mole grips,blowtorch,tyres ok

tyres were fine, they managed to scrape through the 1.6mm limit by about 30mm lol.

I'll nip out and buy a blowtorch in the morning when I pick all my spares up to fit :)

How hard is it to fit shocks?

I was quoted £240 for supply and fit  or £94 for a new pair to fit myself, guess which option I picked :thumb2

I hope you had a nice holiday :D

rear shocks can be done without taking wheels off,i just take weight on trolly jack and whip them off.front shocks not too hard to do either unless the bottom bolt is rusted solid and the welded nut breaks off the lower wishbone like mine did.get some wd 40 squirted on them and leave it overnight.
as dinky says get mole grips on brake pipe.had to use them when i changed my front flexi hoses as they had rounded off.
have fun over the weekend:thumbs

haha yeah I will cheers Elty, I have got no WD40. its one of those daft things I have been meaning to get some for ages and keep forgetting :doh

I'll get some tomorrow :thumb2

I reckon I blew the shocks last weekend in the peak district lol, I hit a couple of puddles a bit hard. on one of them my toolbox nearly ended up in the front of the car from the boot :clap then I looked in my mirror and it looked like you done the same thing lol.

I am also hoping to sort out a CB this weekend too :)

if you've got that blowtorch heat the nuts up rather than using WD40.

When offroading, I'm trying to get into the habit of strapping things down in the truck:sly
Flying objects can broody well hurt:doh

soz to hear the bad news on the mot but it dont seem as bad as it reads some simple jobs and you should be fine

i havnt got a problem with my shocks after the derby day although their was a deep puddles with little rutts in them :augie must of been because i didnt go fast through any puddles :lol

see these derby days cause all sort of problems dont they

ian with his pain in the back at the end of the day

you with a pain in the wallet

and me with a headache from my son asking every 10 mins "when we going again, tomorrow ! and are we going to go fast through puddles and why havnt you cleaned the car yet

yaay :clap

Finally got my MOT, being nearly a month with no car has been horrible :doh

Get my Tax today then all is good and I can drive again, if I have enough money left for fuel :doh:lol
