Just read this thread as I had missed it up till now !

Pretty epic rebuild and damn shame with the running faults and stuff

Glad you got it mot'd and will be an awe of you/it when all done :)

Parked the car overnight in Worthing. On my way home I noticed a little rattle when going around corners. Got home and noticed that some idiot has tried to steal my rear tyre (nearly new). They removed the centre wheel cap, 5 wheel nuts but fortunately couldn't undo the locking wheel nut.

So driven nearly 45 miles home with only the locking nut holding the wheel on the axle. Not amused!!

If somebody knows a place where I can get a 'new' rear centre wheel cap then please drop me a line.

you could try Nissan 1st in welshpool ...... you never know , the nuts themselves shouldn't really be a problem tho

That's scary but I also had same problem a few months back but I only managed about 4 miles before I realised my wheel was about to part company with Trol:(

Yup defo a big job.But doing it yourself, then at least the job is done correctly.
Good luck,Keep the updates coming in.

Updates....

Hi,

Just read all 33 pages of this thread from the start.
Amazing job sir, you are to be congratulated on your rebuild.

Whats the latest? Are the arches all done and the rebuild finished???

Steve

Still going strong. :thumb2

Haven't had time to read the forum as the Father in law is seriously ill. In addition we are looking to move house.

Once that is all behind us I will get round to fixing the wheel arches and some other bits and bobs on the Trol. Last week I had to disconnect the pax door handle from the mechanism as the car wouldn't lock on that side.

I can lock it with the central locking or key, but then after trying to open the pax door 5 times the door unlocks. No idea why, can't lock the pax door with the key either. As a temporary solution I disconnected the outside handle from the mechanism so that nobody can open the pax door from the outside.

Glad you are still about, have a great Xmas and hope father in law recovers OK, look to see you next year, best regards Rick

Cheers guys. :thumb2

Father in law has cancer throughout his body, so far we know of four places (liver, bowel, lungs and prostate). Unfortunately not a lot the doctors can do for him. Thursday we get the results of how bad it really is and an idea of how long to go.

Your thoughts are very much appreciated.

Merry Christmas to all, and next year I will be back with more piccies.

Nice to see you are still around. sorry you are going through such a hard time, remember you've always got friends on here to sound off to by pm or just post a rant if it'll relieve the stress.

Sorry to hear about the Cancer,it took both of my in-laws.So i understand the trauma that you and your family are going through. So my thoughts are with you.Brian.

Not much progress i am afraid.

Unfortunately for my father in law passed away peacefully six weeks ago. As he lived in Portugal it causes some headaches with regards to his house etc.

Earlier this year we made an offer on a house which was accepted! :thumbs When we viewed the house the vendors were willing to move into rented accommodation, however this all changed after they accepted our offer. They now want to stay in the house until they found a new house for themselves. And they are not the quickest when it comes to arranging viewings etc. Because we were expecting to move a bit quicker we already started to pack. So now most of my tools are sitting in a container in our yard with no easy way to get to them. :doh

The Patrol needs some work done to it but it will have to wait until I can unpack my tools. Not ideal when the weather is nice and I have got some time off work.

More hassel than you need mate, feel for you, just shows there are some very difficult people out there, low life I call them, Rick

Cheers Rick! No further news yet.

Taken the Patrol to the garage today for some TLC in the form of two new BFGoodrich All Terrain tyres. The old ones were close to if not below legal requirement as the outside had worn away.

She looks the part again with two new tyres, one nearly new and one 50% worn. Preferably I would have liked to change the 50% worn one as well but the cost of a new one are high so this one has to stay on a bit longer.

I know its a two year old post but ive only just found it:nenau... wow that was a big job...

Not finished yet! Still a bit more work to do but hopefully that will be done this winter when I got more time.
