you dont want abs in snow as it will lock up the release roll over. heaped up snow in front of tyre then start all over again with out abs in snow the heaped up snow will start to slow car as it will buildup more and more as long as u dont release the foot brake now i have opened a can of worms as some people will dissagree with this statment:eek:

Dunno, was just going from experience, when I taken the meriva for a play on the snowy back road. over. Also tried it with the traction control turns on and off, when it's on and you boot it the wheels judder violently and the steering wheel kicks, but when off, it'll spin nicely without juddering

Is this the advert section or the discussion section? ;)

If it helps, there's a fella on tinternet called Simon Keeling that does weather forecasts. He is pretty good IMO and accurately predicted this summers weather well in advance.
He is currently suggesting it is very likely that December to February will be colder than usual this winter with a strong easterly air flow. This usually brings snow particularly to the eastern counties.
Get your snow chains while they are cheap. (especially if you have a Volvo)

4x4 will cope in not too deep snow. depends on how into your 4x4 you are as the chains will help you travel in deeper snow if your greenlaning etc.

Fez is selling snow chains
.
You either want them or dont.Lets not get over Enthused about em.
I have rode motorcycles to work in thick snow. And driven 2x cars in thick snow.
And still here.
Either you wan't them or you don't.:thumbs

Whats that got to do with anything, I have genuine Volvo Snow chains here... For the 400 series.

Cool, Volvos are designed and built in Sweden, to if any manufacturing plant was going to know about making cars handle well in the snow it'll be Volvo:thumb2, especially the Tørslanda that I'm getting :D

Sorry but that argument holds no water.Simply because if a car is designed in a country that has snow(Built for the European market)Basically means it has to perform to EU standards.
Simples.:)

:thumbs

Also my old pops had Tørslanda In the uk.And the fuel tank froze,in the winter.Erm Swedish/car build,???
