I still can't get these blooming bars right, its driving me mad :banghead

To the point i'm debating dropping the who xmember with the torsion bars out & taking the whole lot to a garage to get the clips removed, I just can't get them :(:(:(:(

yes they are fiddly,
having no eye holes to use circlip pliers ,
just got to persevere ,
two nail punches one on either end of the clip and tap them off :thumb2

tried similar with screwdrivers :augie

& needle nose pliers:thumb2

just cant get them :doh

the xmember would come out quicker, just support the front on axle stands :thumbs

i put a flat screw driver in one side then hit the other side with a chisel and hammer they popped straight off ;)

equal force on both sides at same time, thats how i did it, you have to have spazzy arms to do it though :lol

oh and put a cloth over the top of the clip or it shoots off and you spend an hr looking for it, dont ask how i know :augie:augie :lol

normally ends up in the hedge bottom :lol

do not understand the problem, they fall off, Rick

What he said!!!!

The worst ones I ever had to remove were the ones on my propshaft UJ's but at least I had the prop off when I tried to do those, the new UJ's did come with new clips though thankfully

just move the circlip enough to get a small screwdriver in between clip and torsion bar then lever it off.much easier than trying to open both ends and push it off.

This may be the problem lol I cant do spazzy arms no got the strength :lol

Here, have some inspirational pictures, I desperately searched for spazzy mechanic arm pictures but found nothing. This is as close as I got...

lol I did have to get the guy from the garage across the road to get the circlips off for me & even he struggled.......they are staying in the bolt box til I'm done

I swear its only ever my cars/truck that end up with the oddest & most annoying problems ever :doh I would kick her butt but it'd hurt me more than it :augie

this was it before

I did get a bit of height but not enough

but now i got this problem..... I've ran out of bolt:doh

I'm no mechanic (clearly :lol)

But surely you must have assembled something wrong to cause this :nenau

Perhaps it's worth having a sit back with a cuppa and having a real hard think, step by step.
