hi guys,
just popped out in the jeep and the bloody engine management light stays on !!!
the weird thing is the jeep runs prefectly fine no smoke, not sluggish, no funny noises, no flat spots, runn it all the way round too 90mph not probs what so ever ?
it runs how it always has run.

the only thing that seems to have gone cock eyed is the temp sender seems too be hanging on by a thread the male connector is soo wobbly and the temp gauge is up and down.

i replaced the sender next to it last weekend the one with the multiplug on it.

i take it the sender with only 1 wire into it is the temp sender ? the reason i ask is because just had a look at the parts list and i replaced the big sender of the 2 which eurocarparts supplied me as a temp sensor but according to the parts list the single wire connector is the temp sensor :confused::confused::confused:

sorry for the long explanation guys your help would be great

paul.

hi there the part that is bary hanging on by a thread is the thermal transmitter.
the male connector is all floppy for the want of a better word.
could that cause the engine management light to come on if it is faulty ?

there are several threads explaining how to short the pins on the OBD connector to get your EML flashing and show its codes.....search is your friend :)

The light shouldnt come on with that sender, it is just for the gauge, the one you changed next to it with th 2 wires will put the light on though, get your codes read (downloads) and go from there.
