Hope someone can help!

All electric windows work except the drivers one. Checked the fuse box under the bonnet, the relay was missing. I've put one in now but still no joy.
I've got another relay here which is bigger (a black one), this doesn't go under the bonnet or under the steering wheel.
I've been told this is generally the relay which causes the windows to stop working.

The problem is ... where does it go???!!

If it goes behind the door card - how do i get it off.
I noticed the two screws on the left, are there any more?

Thanks in advance

Keith

ive just had to change all my workings inside the door. drivers side. there is a big black relay coverd by the door card.

you beed to unscreew the handle and the two you can see, carfuly leaver off the trim around the door handle. and the edges are just clips.

dont pull to hard as it will come away quicly and the switch is fixed onto the door card.

pity your so far away, took me about an hour to change over.

mine was the plastic parts that had broke, i could hear the motor running just the window didnt move.

heres the manual hope its of some help

Ive got mine stripped, with the glass being held up by a bit of 2x1, ready for the new motor drive assembly to go in, (which I have), but haven't found 5 minutes to myself to finish it. IT WILL be done this week, come hell or high water !

I put this together some years ago and have just found it on my comp. It was posted on the old site but was lost when the site went down.

I have put together a few pictures and a brief explanation on removing a window motor from a Terrano II
Hope someone finds it of useful

Firstly remove the door trim (with the window up)
1. Remove the two plastic caps and screws
2. Remove the screw in the top of the door handle and withdraw the handle.
3. Pull the door latch lever out and carefully prise the surrounding trim off and remove.
4. Starting at the lower R/H corner carefully prise the door panel away from the door being careful not to break any of the plastic poppers. Once free lift the panel away from the door and disconnect the wire to the window switch.
Next peal back the plastic water cover stuck to the door and put to on side.

1.Disconect the electrical plug from the motor.
2.Remove the 3 bolts securing the motor to the door.

1.Pull the motor to the rear as in picture bellow.
2.Through the front large hole in the door mark the position of the plastic gearbox and remove the 3 screws shown. It is necessary to mark the position as it is possible to replace the motor in 3 positions and only one is correct. With a screwdriver to assist remove the motor from the cable drive making sure the cable real stays in its place in the plastic box in the door.

Withdraw the motor through the rear hole and you should be left with the motor as below.

Finally got the new drivers side electric window mechanism fitted this weekend, with no problems, only to find that the relay box in the door was cream crackered. Someone had levered the lid off in the past, and carried out a bodged solder repair. The pcd was also corroded from water ingress, :nenau. I'll have to get another one.

I got all the bits so far from " NISSAN 1st " (01938) 555750.

They are specialist Nissan breakers, and their service is spot on. Ask for Hilary.

Photo's below are out of focus, I think I got too close with the camera, :doh.

Finally got around to replacing the relay box asa pictured above. The window works a treat now, no more bits of 4" x 2" holding it up !
