The horn comes with a complete kit.
So also a small compressor and of you want to you can just connect it on the old wires of the horn.

You need to see and hear Jay's on his Patrol, I just couldn't live with having to house a compressor like that for it!!!!

I wonder if he still has the pipe out the back window taped up with duct tape :doh :lol

This morning I did something that was on my list for a long time, blanked the EGR and did the VNT mod.
Took me 40 or so minutes to do it, but after al long time of thinking about it, it was quite easy to do. Only my hands were a little big for the space available.

I didn't make a lot of pictures, but something is better than nothing :nenau

Everything opened up. In the end I had to remove the intake to the turbo to give me some extra workingspace.
And yes it is a bit wet, I also had to remove one of the coolinghoses so some fluid came out.

And everything back into place:

After this it was time to work on the EGR.
No pictures of the work itself, but this is the plate I used:

If there is some time this afternoon I'll see if I can fit the new horn into place.
For now there is a trailer behind the car to do some work.

This week I've also ordered some new engine oil and a lot of filters.
Gonna replace the airfilter by a K&N replacement. Got some nice discount on it, so everything for the sticker :D
The truck is making some more miles since I've got a new job since the half of july.
It's holding on fine and it is nice to feel that the work that is done is making longer travels a lot more pleasent

Got it via an action on facebook.
Will have a look for you if I can find it again.

Today I ordered some new vacuum hoses and a new solenoid so everything to the turbo is new.
I think everything is still allright after 16,5 years, but it's better to be safe then to be sorry.

Gave the truck a service this weekend.
New oil, all the filters and for the airfilter I went for the K&N inlet.
Also changed alle the vacuumhoses that work on the VNT system and I think there is some small improvement.

Today I got myself a gift in the shape of 2 new spot beams to replace the Hella ones.
Still not happy with the light output from them and with the evenings coming quickly darker again I decided tot change them.
Went for the 7inch round beams from Wowled. The rear lights I have are also the same brand and I'm very pleased with them :)
And I still like the form of 2 lights on the front of the car instead of a lightbar.

And last a small update on the horn. Did a reroute for the house providing the air to the horn and now it's almost twice as loud :D
Also blew a fuse on it on day 2, 10amp was a little to less...

This week the new lights came in and today I had some time to fit them.

Comparing them to the old Hella's:

They are a bit thicker and aluminium instead of plastic.
Diameter is about the same, so no big changes.

An old Hella and a new led lamp, both are on but my phone did only see the new light and I can't blame him...

Two new lights on the truck, making a bright day even brighter

And without them running:

In light they make a big difference with the old ones.
Almost can't wait to use them in the dark :naughty

Excellent!!!!! They look well tasty!!!!

That being said, if you would like to sell those Hella's I would love those for my truck

Sorry for the late reaction Zack, been a bit bussy :nenau

The Hella's are in a bit of a rough state. One has a big crack in it and the plastic aged quite fast. I'm a bit surprised it happened so fast.
Have a think about it :)
On monday I'm off for a short holiday and after that I'm back and if you still want them able to ship them for you.

Well a small update, to begin with the good.
The new lights are great!

The second news isn't so good...
Last wednesday I drove through a small ditch and felt something snapping.
Couple of 100 meters away from it the truck started steering to the right whilst braking so when I got home 2 kilometers further I did a small check.
First couldn't find it and then the chassis got my attention :doh

Right side is completely rusted through and the left side isn't the way it used to be as well.

This is a picture I send my neighbour on the evening it happened:

Since he is a handy man with some friends with great welding skills he took a look next day and we discussed the options.

So after the not so nice options we got to the better ones which means the truck is gonna get fixed again.
Only downside is, my neighbour and his friend are going on holiday next week so the for now my Terrano is "grounded" untill they are back.
When they get back they will fix anything they don't trust and after that I'm gonna apply a good amount of protection to keep it the right way again.

What surprised me is that I got a new MOT less than half a year ago and nobody did ever see it so I think the guy needs some new glasses...

Always the case but great to hear you are getting it fixed as it’ll be a great truck again and give many good years of service. Personally I think people give up on them too easily. On the bright side you get extra time to do any other small jobs ready for winter.

I think people do indeed.
Altough this might not be the easiest solution I think it is the best one.
Got the rest of the truck almost like I want it to be and it drives and towes well so why change it?

For now I have the underside protection waiting:

Gonna spraypaint it on with the compressor.
Also waiting for some new rubbers for the stabilizer bar after one is cracked. Think I now why...as well for one of the endlinks of the set I've changed.
Thinks are falling into place now.

Well it took some time, but since last week the truck is back allive!

Some pictures they send me while working on it:

Passenger side rebuilt:

On the driver side they managed with welding a crack in the chassis.

Took them 1, day to do and the finished product looks like this from the side:

To celebrate the "rebirth" I gave it a little mudbath a couple of days later :)

Great news, looks like it’ll last for years with all that underseal :thumbs

Your truck is great :thumbs
