thanks I have a clear picture now.
this seems like a good beefy upgrade.
my only concern is the bottom bolt.
if its too long the bushes are doin nowt.
if its too short they will be too compressed.
and will a good tighten be enough with all the abuse they get or will they need some thread lock compound or summat?
as im thinking they have only got to loosen slightly and they will soon unscrew them selves and just fall out?

I think I would get some High Tensile studding, cut it to length, and then locktight it in to the rose joint, then use nylock nuts on the bottom.

I just used thread lock on mine, but there's nothing to stop you putting in a narrow lock nut :thumbs
OE drill through the lot and put a split pin in
Bolt length, just look at the diag and add bushh thicknesses

you should make them and sell them on here . make abit of cash for some :beer

I think you would need to buy the parts in bulk to stand any chance of making some money.
Gonna post a list of the suppliers and what I have paid then peeps can make their own mind up.

They look really trick.

Are they a direct replacement for the standard size equipment?

Shame as I have just replaced both of mine.

Regards

Alan

They look great:thumb2 tbh in the long run going the rose joint route could end up saving you money:D it's something I will be looking into doing just need to twist my wifes arm first about a lift:augie

these are better washers mate.
with the wider outer diameter and the thinner measurements of them means for shorter bolts and more strength.

which also means the rose joint is closer to the angle it should be.

Mine are a lot thicker.are yours the 12mm ones?
Might see if I can get them turned down a bit at work.
They still give the joint the full movement but as you say are a lot wider.

don't bother with yours mate be patient.
trust me these don't interfier with movement. its a wider surface area for more strength.
they are the 12mm from McGill motorsport who have swapped bits for me a few times to get right.

I will give them a shout and get them swapped over unless I can get some machined up at work.
will see what laddo at work can do this morning.:thumb2

These look like a good alternative to the standard ARB links. Going to watch this space with interest.

McGill motor sport have been fantastic with me and im goin ask them about a discout for the club.
im going to see about stainless bolts and elty is the man for the stainless washers.

but they will probably work out about 45 quid at a guess.
its been a ball ache sourceing the parts we may start putting the kits together for club members with a small profit of coarse.

but the standard ones don't work out much cheaper and these will last at least twice as long

That sounds good, I would be up for a pair if the opportunity arises. Well done that man!

the story so far,
This has been a ball ache from the start to find the bits and get correct deliveries.

the rose joints them selves are easy enough to find (if they can send you the right parts)
Ive sent them back twice now.
misalignment washers again are easy obtainable if you know which to order.
the bolts nuts are easily available if you have a good fixings store near you.
the washers are a different story.
they are very difficult to get. elty001 is the man for that, custom made jobbies.
and the poly bushes with a 12mm centre hole and 30mm diameter with a thickness of between 15 and 20 mm is proving difficult.
any links for off the shelf bushes would be welcome.
meantime ive been intouch with a couple of companies who supply and a couple who manufacture and am waiting for replies.
ive asked for a price for 32 to be made. if there sensible prices there may be 2 more sets of these beefy drop links with out the leg work.
price to be worked out.
but I also found out there is a 5% saving from ordering direct from McGill motor sport than via ebay.
other than that they couldn't offer our club any more discount due to there prices being so low already.

I'm sorry guys I had no trouble at all :p
Maybe living in the sticks is an advantage as I usually just makeitfit :lol
Well done though doing more legwork for others Steve, I look forward to my design commission :naughty
Carry on :whip:

Thats where decent local shops help, as you can see the parts up close. And try a few things without costing anything.
