if you have all the parts its easy.
most of us don't.
depends if you mess about with cars a lot I suppose.

but I would of gladly paid 60/70 quid for an off the shelf upgrade like this even for everyday road driving.
if we can get all the bits together and offer members the kit for a couple of quid profit.

we will have to work a realistic price out.

im also working on rocksliders for body lifted only trucks

as you say steve its a bit of trial and error at the moment to source the parts which are up to the job.
I am going to email milners to see if they have an off the shelf bush which meets the requirements.
will keep you posted on their reply.

been hard at it at work today....trying to find some uprated bushes for the droplinks:lol:lol
just waiting to hear back from a,dare I say it,landrover place:lol
I have found these but just want confirmation of the sizes from them.

Put me down for a set of these please if you are going to sell them!!!!!!

had a reply from a supplier with a comprehensive chart they sent me.
it looks complex so I passed it on to elty for a brain to look at it.

meantime ive been milners today and had a chat with one of the most friendly of blokes about bits and bobs.

I got everything I needed apart from off the shelf bushes.

so he went through every bush in the place to sort me out.
these are the bushes I came away with...

but the centre hole is too big:doh

so if im cutting ( I haven't measured yet) a 15mm bush and then insert a perhaps 10mm insert from this tubing allowing for compression :nenau
does this sound good enough:nenau

these will work out at 1mm smaller than the hole in the wishbone so are maximum size with a steel washer insert and must be an improvement on stock:nenau

i put cheapo ebay drop links on mine a while back i do mean ages ago and fitted uprated polybushes at the same time and there still going strong, how ever this does look like a good replacement idea

Those bushes are the same size as the nearest fit on that chart you sent me.! once the insert is fitted it brings the centre bore down to 12.7 mm.they look about the same length also,I guessing about 50mm.
The ones I have got at the moment need an insert in them to reduce the centre bore down.
Them landrover ones are out of stock at the mo so the guy couldn't give me the dimensions but he said I
am welcome to go and have a look at what they have got.

I will try get some cut for you in time for you next bod over:D

in fact I will leave them till you come over for a chat on optimum measurments:thumbs

ok mate.if all goes to plan I was hoping to have a play around with the links on Saturday to see whats what, but you know me so I will probably be neck deep in some other stuff:lol:lol

got a bit of info on these bushes and I think they are the same size as a standard arb bush.

Finally had a chance to play around with drop links.
First job was to take off ARB and give it a good clean down and a coat of paint.

Next I got all my shiny new bits together.

Have gone with the land rover bushes for now but as they are the same size as the washers when I tightened them up they started to lip up over the edge of the washer.

Trial fit to get bolt sizes right.

Also a bit tight getting the 19mm socket in the hole in the wishbone and onto the bolt but a bit of wiggling of the ARB sorts that out.
Just see the bushes starting to lip over the washers but off up to Steve's tomorrow so will see how the bushes he has made look.can just squeeze a standard one over the 12mm bolt so might have to go that route:nenau

All fitted and tightened back up.

On the plus side it feels loads better on the front end.just need to put them through some abuse to see how they fair up:thumb2

Watching this with interest - good thread and posts.

mate I put my top bolt the same way around but it is catching a little on the metal block above it. your lift makes the clearance. im going to turn the bolts around tomoz and it should be fine as there is deffo more clearance.

im glad we only reindexed my torsion bars but not lifted them as people may want these for a standard truck.

I will chat more about the optimum bolt sizes after rigorous tests:D

I should of taken more pictures of my own set.

I will take them off and do it tomoz.
for your rose joints and misalignment washerfrom here.
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/McGill-Motorsports

you need
2 rose joints 12mm with a 1.75 pitch thread
2 12mm misalignment washers

this is a standard bolt sized fit and thread and is easily available for anyone localy.

I can easily get bolts for you in stainless steel you need.
2 60mm 1.75 pitch bottom bolts.
2 50mm top bolts,same pitch.

2 nylon locking nuts for the top bolt.
you need to put the threaded end to the bolt facing the tyre.

washers I have found are very difficult to source.
elty001 can supply the perfect washers.
10 custom made washers required..

you will need 4 of these.http://www.milneroffroad.com/nissan...ension-1/r20-suspension-shock-absorber-bush-1

although they may need slight adjustment. full update on that to come.
but the inside diameter is too big so I had to make some inserts.
again elty is working on stainless custom made ones.
but meantime milners again sell a steel tube perfect for the job if you want to do the work yourself for a quid plus vat.
I will dig my recipt out and get a part number.
I/we me n me mate elty001 cant afford to have people shout up and pay for the bits ourselves and its generally free delivery from suppliers( it cost me nearly 7 quid to return the wrong sized roses)
you can safely go and buy these bits know they will fit from our efforts and all parts can be found easily.
