I'm struggling to find proper info on what diffs I have and what ratio they will be.
As far as I know mine has an h233 rear diff and I think an R200 front diff. Sometimes I see letters added on like h233 "B" and R200 "A", wish I knew what it all meant.
I've checked the downloads and can't find anything but I'm going to check again tomorrow with a fresh pair of eyes! I've also been searching the American and Australian forums!

Mine is lwb, 2000, 2.7tdi, has the big rear diff so I'm pretty sure its h233!

Any help and info will be greatly appreciated :bow :thumbs

Is it you that's brought Elt's rear off the 2.4 then? :naughty

The numbers 233/200/180 etc. refer to the diameter of the differential crown wheel.

Negligible figures there really to swap and axle purely for better acceleration then with bigger tyres :nenau I remember when Craig did it and he said that it didn't make any difference at all.

No figures for the 3litre in there interestingly :nenau Or was maybe you had to drop down another menu box further back as you were searching the site, meh

That's and old data sheet so probably before the 3.0 litre was introduced :nenau

I read somewhere that it was stamped on one of the plates in the engine bay.
Never looked tbh.

Nah, mine seems ok but I would like to put a fresh set of plates in and increase some shim sizes or maybe add extra plates in order to increase the torque at which it breaks traction, its measured in pounds, I don't know what mine is from factory (got 60 or 80lbs in my head for some reason) but I bet it will be less now.

The reason I want to find out as much as possible is I've read a couple of places that it may be possible to get an lsd out of the rear axle of say a 180/200sx, 300zx etc. and put it into the front of a Terrano, so I can have lsd front and rear, and obviously upgrade the rear!

A lokka is looking like the better choice especially money wise, I'm not sure if I like the idea 100% though! How awkward and or hard is the steering and how loud is the clicking noise they make?

Correct, the Lokka would only come in to play in 4 wheel, Rick

That video is not correct, it states that on a turn the cogs will ratchet so allowing outer wheel to rotate faster than the inner, nonsense, if drive is applied it will remain locked, and hard to steer on a turn, the cogs (dog clutch with tapered dogs) will only ratchet when diff not driven, and or (in the case of auto hubs) hubs not locked, Rick

To all those with lokka's then, do you like them? I know they make the steering harder but is it a major thing?, does it spoil the drive?, does the clicking bother you?, has it broken anything?
