You need a 286 T5 bulb, 1.2 Watt 12 Volt
Or as Jim says:--CETA BU286 T5 12V 1.2W W2*4.6D
Pozidrive #2 screwdriver, a short handled one helps.
1 Remove 3 screws at top of speedometer console. Short screwdriver is best.
2 You will need to remove the lower plastic cover below the steering wheel, the cover that has the fuse access panel in it. 2 screws at the bottom, one to right of hand throttle, pointing upwards and one in the side, accessed when the door is open. You may have to remove the lower part of the driver's door seal to allow the panel to come out.
Pull out from the bottom left of the panel, to release the 3-4 plastic push in clips. Leave the cover in place.
3 You should now be able to get to the 2 screws holding in the bottom of speedometer console.
4 Remove the panel, I found that pushing out the switches from the back made it easier to get to the connectors to release them.
5 Unscrew the 2 lower screws of the speedometer pod.
6 Gently pull the pod out, the speedometer cable un-docks from a socket, very nice piece of engineering.
7 Place pod face down, and access to each bulb is easy. Un screw the faulty bulb assembly.
8 Pull the bulb from the holder, and refit a new bulb.
If you test the panel at this time, if like me you have a back light dimmer, don't forget to re-connect the switch to see it dim. :doh
Assembly is the reversal of dissasembly, but keep the pod aligned to allow the speedometer cable to automatically dock.but for u plank dont worry bout speedo cable as urs wont have 1 :thumbs
Time.. it took longer to write these instructions than do the actual job.
20 minutes to half an hour especially if you remove the dust from the back as well.:thumb2
